F**k it. Bungie's silence worries me.

Okay, this thread needs a rewrite. I'm worried about Bungie's Silence on all matters. I'm worried about The 10 Year Plan and the fate of expansions and DLC. I'm worried about the planned content, and the fact that the most revent Queen's Wrath content has done nothing to alley our fears or issues. You want to yell at me, go ahead. I understand. Edit: This is just my opinion. Bungie's silence worries me right now. I'm not saying the game is bad, but it does have flaws.

    • Ive been telling all my friends they released a half made game just to try and make back development costs the whole time. Once you hit 20 its evident. The game ended, and like most others, I didnt even realize I beat it. The story just stops, because they are still trying to finish this as it sells! Way to put in "The Reef" an empty void of unfinished game also. Bring in new bounties to support this worthless place and characters without any story. You'll say thats the point, for new content to be placed. I say it was a budget that was running dry and needed cash fast.

Unfulfilled promises Blatant Lying in promotion Bait and Switch Tactics DLC Baiting Sequel Baiting Beta's becoming demos to build hype Broken games being released Constant need for Patching The FPS landfill IPs like Halo being milked year after year *sigh* The state of the gaming industry is what's worrying me

      • We should have started worrying before launch, when they refused to answer interview questions on how long the campaign was. Or just before release, when they silenced reviewers by not providing a copy of Destiny ahead of time. Or maybe we should have worried just after release, when they made a statement saying "Don't believe the first-week reviews! They didn't really play the game!" Then there was the other statement that begged gamers not to give up on Destiny before 20 because it was after 20 that the real game started—yet again they failed to provide any details. Destiny is like the will-o-the-wisp of gaming. It lurks menacingly in the back of your mind until you actually try to face it; then it fades away with a puff of hype and disappointment.

        • I am also worried about what is going to happen with this game, I feel like if they want to save it then they need to act fast. I don't like the fact that I am going to have to pay for the story in this game. That is like buying a book at full price and only getting the first chapter, and then be expected to pay for the next chapter each time.

        • They just can't / won't admit that they screwed the -blam!-ing pooch big time. Activision has lost 1.5 billion in its market value at the stock market since destiny released, horrible reviews across the board. They need to make some serious changes or risk making this a complete failure that won't last much longer. Look how bored and pissed people are NOW and it's only been 3 weeks. The nuthuggers here won't ever admit it either but it's a fact that the majority of the world thinks this game is mediocre and a huge letdown. Minorities of bungies sack polishers won't keep the game alive, bungie has to act now instead of hiding

          • The radio-silence is baffling to me, too. As for the game's longevity, first fix must be the connectivity issues - new awesome content will be released to an empty Tower if we've all packed it in.

              • Am kind of surprised there is no interaction on the forums or twitter from the Dev's or mod or anything. Most games I play when you go to the site you'll like find some kind of interaction with the community even if it is only to shut down troll threads, but here nothing. Would it really be so hard for them to pop in once in a while and just say hi to the community, even if it is a some what angry group of people?

              • Devs remain silent for PR reasons, particularly when they have already sold you their product and are likely legally not allowed to say anything without the publisher's approval. This is also the case when devs get stuck up about public perception and "how dare the miscreants say our game has problems". Also, in this case, the low reviews cost the studio a pay bonus and they are going to earn lower royalty amounts now too. I'd imagine they aren't too happy right now and at least a few peoples' jobs are in jeopardy.

                • eh, i'm kind of hoping destiny one hits the dirt in terms of their plan. I think angry joe was spot on when he said "this game feels like it once had a rich soul, but was ripped out in favor of the corperate approach.". I dunno why i'm supposed to want to pay 30 dollars (or 20) for an expansion, when the initial game felt shorter than halo CE, but with an eigth of the story. You don't sell a game for 60 bucks, have it FEEL incomplete, then expect people to shell out more money for "extra content". Sorry bungie, pvp is fun, game play mechanics are fun, but so far, destiny will not capture interest in the long run. Halo accomplished that in spades. All they had to do was tell a great and interesting story. Halo felt more exploritive, than the game thats supposed to be about exploration, all because of its lore and story.

                      • I agree there silence is worrisome. I absolutely love Destiny, but clearly what they released at launch is just a portion of the content that is included on the disc. There are a bunch areas that are walled off now that are already populated with enemies and the content is already there, just with its hand stuck out waiting for payement. Whether this is Bungie's decision to release these areas in the dlc's or a directive by actitvision to increase their revenue for this product is up in the air. I tend to believe it's Activision. This is dangerous territory for games in general, large portions cut and then released as dlc as a necessary component to any logical story is not a good model and one we as consumers should be very concerned about.

                      • I agree. But my immediate concern is about the connectivity issues. I can't remain on Destiny's servers for more than an hour on BOTH Xbox360 and PS4. Have I missed a forum thread where Bungie addressed these issues? (PLEASE let me know if I have) Don't even get me started about getting kicked during Strike mode -_-

What got me a little upset was that it took them a week to tell us what they were going to do about the Vault of glass end game reward screen. It took them a week to tell us that there is no gear at the end game screen. Bungie I love your game but come on , Ive been putting lot of time on your game and in the vault and all for a sniper rifle , shards and a shader ? I don't even think i can run through the raid again knowing this . Sorry guys this is not a rage post it just concerns me a little bit . The vault was fun don't get me wrong but , I expected some nice titan marks or a little more extra gear at the end. I like how in the queens wrath missions you get more legendary gear than the Vault of glass. We've reviewed reports of the Raid ending in an idle state, either: A black screen if players drop the relic after defeating the boss, or The activity timer ticks down to zero with no return to orbit A patch has gone live that should correct this. If you’re still encountering the issue, you’re safe to have the Fireteam leader return your successful Raiding party to orbit. The loot rewards for Raids are obtained at each encounter along the way. As you progress deeper, you will receive experience, currency, materials, and Raid-specific Legendary gear that you cannot earn anywhere else in the game. In addition to a high chance of Raid Legendary gear and Exotic gear, you will also receive a Raid-exclusive Item, such as the Chatterwhite armor shader, upon defeating Atheon. There is no additional loot reward in the post-game Activities Reward screen. No additional loot at the reward screen ? Nice even Datto was expecting some extra cool gear for beating the Raid. Do you know all the frustrations me and my team had to go through ? It wasn't easy.
