I'm sure I'm not alone in my opinion that the release of Destiny has been rather lack luster. Now before any fanboys start crying bloody murder I'll admit maybe expectations were too high and that Destiny has shown occasional glimpses at what I believe is potential ( beautiful art, a story that really could have potential if fleshed out properly, and a PvP system that despite some arguable balancing issues and lack of maps can actually be enjoyable). My first reason as to why the first expansion should be free is that it will prevent what could be a mass exodus of players from Destiny. Give players the hope that things are going to get better soon, and for free. Secondly, and correct me if I'm wrong, the expansions were announced before the release date. I know this isn't an issue solely associated with Destiny, but come on if the contents done put it out at launch not a month later and charge us for it. Thirdly, if this is just DLC and not an "expansion" ( I feel that calling it an expansion denotes certain qualities greater than that of your run of the mill DLC) and we pay for it and get just DLC then again I feel there will be a mass exodus of players. I'm sure there are more reason for a free first expansion ( and against, as long as you can give me a reasonable argument I'm happy to hear it) and I look forward to seeing the opinions other members of the community.
