SPACE BATTLE LOADING SCREENS

Okay. So I just read a post on here about on rails space battles, but what if this was implemented into the loading screens or travel into new areas. Think about it, there are all of these SPACE FARING aliens to kill and NONE of them ever grace our screens in the large space areas of planetary orbit. This NEEDS to happen, you have a mission in a new area, but before you can watch that little shot of your ship zooming down to the surface you and your fireteam have to shoot down some orbital defence units and the like. Maybe a distant ketch and skiffs for heavy fallen dominated areas as smaller units attack your party of guardians, or a glimpse of distant cabal fleets as you punch your way through a small defence force. In. Space. Once again this NEEDS to happen. I love the 30 seconds of fun, run and gun as much as the next guardian, but destiny could use some spice in a few areas, and these space dogfights are just what's needed. These fights would give purpose to the multitude of ships we can have which currently serve only to look pretty. These fights could even extend their reach to PVE, adding some depth and interactivity to the wait before missions and quite simply just looking cool. Our Dinklages could comment on the foes to come as we zoom along and eventually vanquish all opposition. I can see my fireteam now, all talking before a mission, wetting our beaks with some space action before tucking into some good old first person shooting, or upgrading our ships at the shipwright in the tower after uncovering some golden age weapons blueprints. Obviously we're only a week into the feast that is destiny and I'm sure the gurus at Bungie have plans along these lines, but let me know what you think fellow guardians! :)

  • Forgot to add this but maybe this could just be an optional extra. Maybe as you fly along the mission you're travelling to will load and instead of engaging these enemies the fireteam leader can opt to take you down to the surface and get into the real fighting once it's loaded. Maybe even extend these sections? Have a dedicated strike like mission just in space, landing on an enemy ship to take out a prominent enemy leader or fulfil a lucrative bounty from the vanguards (cue Death Star dying cutscenes).
