Warlocks Underpowered

So I played the beta with a all 3 characters. I liked the Warlock the most. So when the full game released I started with a Warlock I am now lvl 27, and I've managed, but I can't help but feel that some of the Warlock abilities are under-powered. My biggest problem is the grenade and melee attack. Since the beta they lower these two stats and now they way under-powered. I feel like no matter how accurate my melee or grenade I cannot get a kill. But a grenade will kill me, even if it's only lingering damage, especially with like the titan, and a melee from either a titan or a hunter will kill me in one blow, even if I have full health. My melees, even if they are straight to the face. Do you guys agree? Edit: I should've specified, this comment was about voidwalker subclass sunsinger subclass grenades and melee are awesome! but the voidwalker movement and super are my favorite so I'm sticking with it Edit 2: I don't think it has so much to do with the class itself, they all have ups and downs, but i guess i was expecting their melee attack to cause the same damage, especially in PvP and that's not the case, this is where I feel the warlocks melee is way under powered. and since launch, one of the 'class fixes' is the damage area warlocks create was reduced by 50% (less damage) I think that left it underpowered too. haha not butthurt just wanted to see what you guys think, maybe if enough people agreed bungie can do something about it, maybe I'm crazy and nobody agrees with me lol

Agreed, the voidwalker is currently underpowered, I think bungie should change nova bomb, vortex grenades back to their original duration, area of effect before the unnecessary nerf they got... It's a magic class, should have a powerful super, grenades because of our lack of armor and agility.

Neither subclass of Warlock is a frontline fighter. Voidwalkers are midrange AoE monsters, while Sunsingers are more like big visible decoys to draw attention away from the Titans and Hunters. Both Warlock subclasses can do plenty of damage in their own right, but they're also both pretty squishy and have to play carefully. (To be fair, Sunsingers can use perks to substantially improve their survivability.) With Voidwalker, I like to use Vortex Grenades, Vortex Nova Bomb, Annihilate and Vortex Mastery, plus Soul Rip with your Energy Drain. That way you're cooling down both your Grenades and Super with every powered-up melee, and both your Grenades and Nova Bomb create huge, long-lasting damage zones. Really good for area denial and making a control point unsafe for enemies. Good Voidwalker players can get 2 or 3 kills with one Nova Bomb.

      • All Sunsinger's grenades are capable of ultimate destruction! And the Sunsinger's Scorch is amazing for postmortem kills since it causes continual fire damage for a while. I've found that the Sunsinger is absolutely amazing in both PVE and PVP.

      • Warlock grenades are OP but their lack of special melee pretty much cancels it out. Sunsinger is shaping up to be the strongest super and it will definitely be the strongest once they nerf bladedancer. Warlocks aren't underpowered, everyone just feels that whatever class they play as is the weakest.

No... My warlock (voidwalker) has a grenade and melee build. I find it to be the most powerful out of all my classes 1. Shoot someone a few times (literally 1-2 trigger pulls), throw grenade that tracks target, dead. 2. Melee kill someone (note that the warlocks melee has a lot more range then the other classes), recover grenades back quicker, repeat step 1. 3. Nuke the shit out of people with your super after owning their ass with your cheap ass grenade + melee mechanic. You can......... Make nova bomb split into three projectiles and then.... Make the three projectiles track targets..... You also get blink... Can easily teleport behind people and shotgun them. Maybe your warlock is weak but mine isn't.

        • Not too sure about voidwalker as i abandoned that subclass the second i turned lvl 15 but sunsinger is pretty amazing in pvp. Cant even begin to count the nr of times i killed someone by sticking a grenade on them and running away, not to mention the selfrevive. Vengeance!

        • Warlocks get extremely long melee range, and could easily noob kill someone with shotgun+melee combo

        • Think of the classes as your difficulty settings, Titan being easy, Warlock heroic, and Hunter legendary.

          • Nah. Warlock is the most balanced of them all. Hunter is too weak and Titan is too strong. Warlock sits nicely in the middle.

            • Well hunter has a skill for dot on melee as gunslinger and a skill for instant kill melee on blade dancer. Titan has similar skills as well I believe which is why you're getting one shot by melee.

              • Yeah man, my Void Lock had to go. That greande & melee is weak as hell and if it wasn't for that damn bounty I wouldn't touch my Void build... ever. Praise the Sun!

              • Void grenades are crap. They'll only kill hurt enemies or if they're standing directly on them. Nova is great for clearing players off a point. Sunsinger and extra grenades helps, supposedly. I've not had much luck with it. I've done better with void.

              • Voidwalkers can get a shield by using their melee on enemies. Titans need to kill enemies in order for that to work.
