Defending the "Cave" (the whiners who hate RNG) Told you so

Only yourself. By gearing like this, you are skipping the actual gear curve and content. All that is gameplay you are missing out on, just to stand in one spot, and squeeze the trigger over and over and over again. Monotonous. Boring. So have at it, grind the cave. You'll be bored in no time and complaining that there is nothing to do and that you have all the loot already. What's the point of playing? I'll be crushing the faces of Darkness underneath my boot.[/quote] Second edit: since a majority of you coming in here keep spouting the same nonsense, just know, us who don't cave farm know that deep down inside you feel dirty doing this. Third edit: just because there isn't an economy in this game doesn't mean that there isn't events coming up that the cave farmers will completely destroy everybody. Exploiting this method, even if you don't get exotics off of it is still giving you 800 exp per minute, allowing you to fully upgrade nearly everything in a few hours time. I've said it before, have fun cutting your experience short.

          I feel if bosses dropped specific loot then that would solve so many problems... Bosses really don't matter they are just there to add time to your run but if they had a loot table, even if I didn't need the loot, it would feel like I had a reason to kill bosses it would make farming strikes more interesting then a cave...

          • Why should I waste my time killing the tougher mobs when they dont drop anything... Why should I run a strike at level 24 when I know the boss isnt going to even drop an uncommon engram. Im not cheating anyone, Im making the game more enjoyable for me.

            • If things rewarded your effort or skill like every other game it I wouldn't keep doing it. I guess I'm old fashioned but i remember when bosses dropped loot. Or let's say that you go to "spot A" and beat "enemy/boss B" you get "loot C". Anyone remember that mechanic?

                  • UO was filled with similar mechanics. BK room? T2A EV spots? etc. etc. Only difference in UO was you had to worry about PKs ganking you. Farming is a major part of every MMO. That is fact. The issue here (as I see it) is if a game mechanic that allows high lvl drops form low lvl spawn is correct? Lack of loot tables (or even guaranteed loot) from bosses Meaningless colors of engrams Engrams giving loot for a different class (i have received 2 purples for a titan and warlock while using a hunter) Its been said before, there are dozens of locations giving similar loot based on the PvE mechanic of AI spawning to fight other spawning AI, they just arnt as publicized. Do whatever you want to the cave. You wont stop this practice without a complete revamp of PvE loot mechanics.

                    • I have to agree with the part about being able to farm level 3,4,5's at levels 20+ for gear that is wrong. I started a new warlock and went to the cosmodrone to level up but had to fight with peeps over level 20 to get any mobs to kill. :/

                        • Cave isn't hurting anyone.. If people enjoy shooting fish in a barrel for hours, let em have at it. People have this weird sense of pride like other people care what gear they have. Everyone has one main priority: their character and enjoying the game. If this game had a trade system and thus creating a market... The cave would have potential to effect others. Fortunately, it doesn't... Can gear out in 2 weeks off marks, the cave isn't going to make it much quicker. If it does, who cares? Not a race to get in line for the expansion

                            • When you've been stuck on one light level for 4 days standing in front of a cave for an hour starts to actually sound like a good idea. There's too much grind in Destiny not to farm. They need to tweak the loot drops.

                                    • Honestly, the only other type of gameplay is dailies and bounties to do once per day then you could do strikes that can take up to an hour over and over again which is just as repetitive and mind numbing. Doing strikes is also how I got to 26 and they absolutely have to rebalance the loot system because of how i can get sooo many more engrams doing the loot cave in comparison. I like the amount of loot there and actually prefer to go there myself since i have nothing left to do other than the raid.
