If it weren't always online I wouldn't have the pleasure of staring at disconnect screens. But hey the ability to watch random people that I don't know and can't talk to roam around the map just to dissappear as they enter their instances was definitely worth it. All about the Community boys that's why they gave us Custom Game Modes. It was definitely not just a veiled ploy to force always online onto gamers.
