Iron Banner will be ruined for those of us who played the game as it was meant...
...rather than exploting an obvious spawn glitch. That's why it's cheating. If the game was purely PvE or PvE and PvP was seperated by a wall like World of Warcraft it wouldn't matter as much, but Bungie obviously doesn't want to do that, so those abusing glitches to get a leg up on those that do not will ruin the PvP side when gear and level restrictions are unlocked.
Oh look they fixed it, I guess it WAS an exploit eh? Yeah, good luck defending that one for so long guys.

2 RepliesI'm convinces that you crazy people are screwing yourselves by farming like that. I joined a guy who was farming a certain "bridge" area near the end of the strike (on Venus). He had over 1400 kills by the time I showed up. We farmed it until a 3rd guy came and I talked him into moving on and finishing the strike. By the time we started for the final boss he had accumulated about 5-6 blues n a bunch of greens. We rekt the boss and by the time it was over he had gotten 2 more blues and a legendary engram. Allow me to reiterate. He spent over an hour farming and got some blues. He finishes the strike in under 25 minutes (after farming) and he gets 2 blues n some purple time. Why farm 10 minions when you can farm an entire strike? If u can beat strikes in under 30 minutes total, you'll get so much more lewt than: hey look those same guys just respawned. I hope I get something since Ive been doing this for 2 hours...

Destiny has a larger wall around PvP than WoW. Trust me. I don't PvP in WoW because of how one sided it is to people with good gear. At least Destiny has the foresight to normalize shit.

Farming is Farming no matter how you or anybody else tries to spin it. As I said to someone in another forum post if bungie truly has a problem with these "unlegit" farming strategies then they'll be patched and that'll be the end of it.

Did you notice how they patched out glimmer farming in certain story missions, but left the "treasure cave" alone? You really need to get over this idea that farming low level enemy's in an efficient manner is some sort of exploit. If it was they would have rolled people back, and fixed the farming spot. But they didn't. The argument is over. Bungie doesn't care about the cave. If you don't want to farm it, then don't, but Iron Banner being ruined for you because other people got geared in a manner you don't like, is your problem, and yours alone.

You don't get crucible gear from patrol loot. You also get unique raid gear only from doing raids. If you don't get crucible gear from vendors or raid gear from raids and still hope to compete in the Iron Banner tournament, you are a weird kid.

How please tell me how? Iron banner has been spaced to the point that if you grind out your crucible and vanguard marks, get strange coins and motes of light you can BUY ALL THE GEAR YOU NEED!!!! Its not like one legendary has higher defense or light rating then another it's not like one exotic does either. Familiarize yourself with game mechanics before you go making up dumb posts. If your so worried about it after you get your marks and buy your gear go farm and round yourself out. Any serious player would know this.

1 Replyif the cave is a "spawn glitch' as you say, then every spawn point in the game must be a glitch as well, because it is literally no different that every spawn point in the game. out of curiosity from all the whining and crying over the "loot cave", i had to check it out myself and see if it was true that you get a high amount of rare and legendary drops. and to see if it was any different than one part on mars and one part on venus. over a weeks time i spent 3-4 hours at the loot cave..got zero legendary drops, 18 blue drops, and more green drops than i can count. what did i get for my time? 2 levels with cryptach, and a bunch of parts for weapons and gear..i got absolutely nothing i could use. spent 3-4 hours at the point on venus where the fallen and the vex fight each other...i got 20 blues, 10 purple, and a bunch of greens. what did i get? leveled up my cryptarch , got zero legendary items, and a bunch of parts for weapons and gear. same thing happened on mars...point is the loot drops will be different for everyone in the game. and there is no difference between that cave and any other spawn point in the entire game... out of all the farming i have done in those spots..i had to buy the only legendary armor i have and the rest was used for parts and leveling up my cryptarch level..so tell me, how does that give me any advantage what so ever over anyone else in the game?

I doubt anybody will reach 30 by just farming the loot cave, or anything that easy. People playing in the Iron Banner will need to be 30 to be competitive, and you have to get out of the cave in order to do that. So, no, Iron Banner will not be ruined by the cave.

Actually it won't be ruined for me and I've played pretty much without using exploits. Maybe you should get to grinding out some missions or pvp for gear if your behind. People are going to go with the path of least resistance. Human nature can't fault them for that. Just do better than them. Keep your head up. Enjoy the game don't worry about everyone else

I admit, i was curious about the Osama cave & tried it for shits & giggles. Low and behold, after about 30 mins, i got a leg engram. Thought ah cool, wasn't that exited fir being let down by cryptarch (notice how the drops look like a 20 sided die!) Anyway, i back at the tower & de-crypting and that purple engram i told you i got turned out to be a Legendary R/Launcher!! The Steel Oracle! To my surprise & my first leg. weapon i might add. I was in a rut with my 25 hunter & started a titan, having much better luck with him. Farmed my hunter for his coins (12) and got two more that day with my titan and got the exotic helmet! (inmost light) point is if you feel like your spinning your wheels getting nowhere, change classes & you may have better luck! About Iron Banner, sure better gear may give you a edge, but it comes down to skill! I've seen a lvl 9 in crucible (where armor & HP are equal) destroy everybody!!

Why do people keep calling this a "glitch". It is a programmed spawn point, not a glitch. Also, farming the cave does NOTHING to help people upgrade legendary and exotic gear. They still need ascended materials and planet specific items (helium, relic iron, spinmetal) that you don't get farming in Skywatch. Don't try and make excuses for your future losses. That's on you.

18 RepliesSo what in the OP's opinion is fair? Was farming on Venus fair? How about Cota runs? How about farming goblins coming from stargates? Getting 3-4 gates active at once? Is any farming ok? What about people who play more or less hours than you? Is that fair? How about RNG luck? Is that fair? If some people have done less than you and have full legendary complementing their 2 exotics? What about people with crappy RNG luck who have played the same or more time than you but have no legendary or exotics yet. Is that fair to them? What about people who have real friends to do VoG with? Or just daily, weekly, and nightfalls. Is that fair to you? What about people who don't have that support system and haven't done any of those things, is that fair to them? I just want to make sure we do everything correct in your opinion to be fair.

Nah. It only took me two weeks to get all legendary gear without hours of cave farming, and there are those who got there well before me. Just wait until then to go into the iron banner *shrugs*

Nah man, the Iron Banner doesn't come out for a while. We still have time to get our marks and buy our Legendaries before it's released.

Never stepped foot in the loot cave, but I'm geared out and will gladly stomp anyone in IB who spent their time getting gear in the loot cave instead of earning marks and experience through crucible. I don't see the loot cave as a problem, especially for IB

2 RepliesI'll be honest, I haven't sunk hours into the cave but I have done it and it really hasn't been to my favor. Only a handful of legendary engrams and they all turned to rares. Even the rares I've gotten, I haven't really replaced any of my current load out with any of it. So I guess, for me, it's just been leveling my Cryptarch rank. You may have a point when it comes to the Iron Banner but the people who are -blam!- this spot are pretty low lvl players. Unless I'm in the minority and people HAVE been getting some really epic drops...
