PvP desperately needs many changes/additions

How did Bungie go from Halo, the most unforgiving console fps for players to this? Why didn't you segregate your 2 main playerbases - people that play for fun and people that play to win? This game's pvp caters so much to the lowest common denominator of players, without any offering for competitve players to go to. The gametypes aren't necessarily awful, but your maps are severely lacking. I can only enjoy Shores of Time, Anomaly, and Rusted Lands. That's 3 out of 10 maps. The maps and their spawns frustrate me beyond belief. Just wait for the expansions! Then the maps might be good! I've spawned next to the enemy vehicle that killed me so many times, spawned behind enemies and have gotten enemies spawned behind me on a point of control on the map so the defenders get closed in on multiple sides and have no hope of surviving. I have trouble imagining that these maps were built for PvP, not taken from the campaign, which I can respect, but how did they end up so bad, coming from a studio with so much experience? Supers are extremely frustrating to play against most of the time and make 6v6 game's chaos on smaller maps. Why do you generate orbs for teammates? If anything, it just adds more chaos, and let's the winning team keep snowballing with supers that are unfun to play against. The maps, save about 2, are completely designed with shotgun/fusion rifle domination in mind, and hardly anything else. Hell, even the moon map (First Light) can be dominated with a shotgun only, I've seen it done. Do I even need to talk about Heavy weapons being available alongside supers? I can pick up ammo for my LMG and go on streaks of 10-15 kills easily, is that fun for my enemies whom basically have no counter for it? I'm just so disappointed. Bungie knows they had a fanbase of more competitive players because of their titles in the past, but they chose to completely ignore us here at launch. No ranked playlists means everyone is thrown into the same pot to play, you often get a team of 6 just stomping the competition, is that any fun for the losing side, or is it exciting at all for the stomping side? What I want to see: Special ammo drops on death, just like heavy weapons. It's already so free on the map everywhere there's no point in keeping it when we die A no Supers playlist, with no modifying abilities from a class or guns either. Purist mode. Everyone gets the same health and armor, perhaps on map weapon spawns? Nerf the AR's already, I cannot find a viable replacement to my blue Galahad-E still. If this means slower kill times, I'm all for it. At least give the teams MVP (or top 3 players) a loot drop. Green, Blue, Purple, Exotic, always give the best players a roll, even with a slim chance, it encourages team play, you know, getting points and not afk'ing. Punish leavers. You guys were pretty fair with it in Reach, once the errors start dying down please start passing some kind of punishment down to leavers. I know there is join in progress but it doesn't seem to happen often and struggling through a 5v6 or even a 4v6 is very unfun. Add a private match mode, maybe add the option to remove your Hud at some point in the future, I bet some of your fans would love to make machinima and use private matches to bust myths, for example. I'm still willing to believe you can make these changes and make this game all it can be.

 • While I agree that changes need to be made, I feel like your listed changes aren't very good or don't make much sense when trying to improve the game. The game needs -ranked match making - heavy ammo should have to be acquired more tactically, as in random spawn points inbetween the 2 teams spawns. Needs to be dynamic, right now each team just gets a free cache of heavy ammo. -special ammo, you should not start with special ammo, and there should be much less ammo caches on the map, maybe 2-3 max on a timer. These are things that should be fought over. Other stuff -AR is not the only way to go, hand cannons are actually way more FoTM. If you haven't played crucible today just wait, everyone is rocking a last word. The reason you only find 3 maps enjoyable is because you use an AR on every map. Scout rifles and pulse rifles are much better than AR at some of the other maps in the game. Try using one of those and see how you like it. - Who gives a shit about drops, in a few weeks you will have almost everything you want, what they need to focus on is the competitive experience.
