Why are people choosing the opposite gender for their character? I find it somewhat weird considering my friend did it, "for no reason." It's strange but I'm nit petitioning against it or anything.

I agree with shadow. The reason I run as a dude is because I didn't like the look of the female characters, or how the armor looked on mine. My titan looks far more badass as a male Awoken than my female human did. Females look ok as hunters or warlocks, but the models just didn't grow on me. And I've caught a lot of flak for it. It boggles people's minds, but I get it. For me, it's strictly because of visuals. Besides, as a chick, I don't want to spend 20+ hours staring at another woman's ass.

There are strong female leads, fiction and nonfiction, that people admire. Some like to base a character on them. I'm not judging.

Some people like the looks or the gear on the female character better.. Plus far less women characters so it stands out more
