To all those commenting on the loot system.

Quit complaining. There's such a ridiculous sense of entitlement amongst a portion of this community that it's sad and makes me weep if you ever have children. We don't always get what we want when we want it, sometimes we never get it. Your parents probably taught you that but your incessant whining in other video games got results and erased that thinking. I mean, who do you think you are? You didn't make the game. You have arguably zero say in what they do. You bought it sure, but you aren't paying a monthly fee so nothing is keeping you here. Personally, I think the loot system is the best I've ever seen, save for the fact that there should be a random attribute generator I.e. Diablo 2 and 3. Other than that, it's perfect, it's a mirror image of life and REALITY. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Sometimes you win big, and sometimes you get force-fed a giant shit sandwich on a God forsaken mountain in Afghanistan. Just enjoy the game. It's easy to do if you stop obsessing over getting the best gear. Just play and have fun. Edit: 'Murica.

  • he's right you guys. it's rng and changing it so everybody gets the same shit is lame. what's the point of exotic and legendary if everyone has it?

  • It's not perfect. Sure, the loot drop system is decent, however I have yet to get anything other than uncommons or motes from legendary engrams. It really does suck getting ur hopes up then getting shit in return.

    • In real life people get what they put in. Sure there are moments where someone who's out in zero effort gets more than someone who works hard but for the most part that's not true. Believe it or not people who top scoreboards are just naturally gifted they have to work hard to get those scores and, just like in real life, their hard work should be paid off with better chances at both getting loot and getting higher level loot.

    • I get what your sayin a billion percent but to keep it short an sweet..... do you agree with people who do terrible runnin around getting in team mates faces just for 'laughs' ultimately making your team lose an some people take pvp seriously (not me lol) only for them to get 'rewarded'..... for WHAT!!!!! Lol Then you realise the top two people who actually tried got squat. So are we sayin that we agree with bad being rewarded and good getting 'bleep' I for one do not because real life has toooooooo much of that already and games are supposed to be an escape from it Just my opinion

        • I feel like a lot of this particular community has just never played an mmorpg. Play WoW and compete with 25 others in a heroic raid for a .1% drop and tell me this loot system is too hard.. If the loot isn't rare than you never get that "OMG GUESS WHAT DROPPED FOR ME" moment that makes mmorpgs so satisfying

          • That 'Murica edit is priceless :) Throw them a cheeseburger as well. The loot system is weird and fine imho. Have not encountered something like this before.

          • Sorry, i disagree. Cant stand the loot system. I played a crucible game and -blam!- the other team by going 4.5 kdr and getting first on my team and i get no engrams. While a guy literally just joined at the end, gets 1 kill, and gets a legendary engram. Thats a -blam!-ed up system. Ive seen this too many times on crucible. I dont mind everyone having a chance but it needs to be weighted properly. As for pve, it should be weighted also based on difficulty of enemies. common enemies (dregs, thrall, etc) have lowest chance of dropping a rare engram while a boss or major has a much higher chance.

            • People forget that there ARE SHOPS THAT SELL ALL THE LEGENDARY S*** YOU'LL EVER NEED. Grind your f****kin Vanguard or Crucible Rank and buy the damn thing. Only reason for farming legendary is to -maybe- score an Exotic. I got all my legendary gear with Crucible rank. The Exotic Titan helm was up for sale today and I was saving for it. Scored Hard Light Exotic Auto Rifle from farming Venus spawn site.

            • This is why I hate Borderlands. People think that you should get a crap ton of loot for doing nothing. We're playing a better game here people.

            • Literally I did 12 hours of the raid and me and one dude didn't get any exotic or legendary items and we all found 3 chest together and nothing but everybody else did just pointing that out and also pvp loot system is a joke I can go positive and play the objectives and a player who didn't do anything thing gets loot honestly I think it needs some tweaking a little bit...but that's my opinion..

            • My tissue with the LOL LOOT LOLOL system is the fact that i can decrypt 10 or more legendary engrams and get 9 green items and a mote of light. If i just got either legendary item or crafting items from the purple engrams i would be happy, instead of green items. My only legendary (heavy weapon) came from a blue engram.

The one reason I think the loot system will never change is becuse it just works for some people. I watched a buddy of mine get 3 purple emgrams in one strike back to back and I got nothing lol was mad but what ever I'm not going to stop playing becuse of it lol just got to keep going lol Only think that gets me is the fact I get a purple and it ends being a green or somthing lol. But recently Ives gotten a spree of luck. Getting motes of light and coins. Not bad if I say so my self.

            • The campaign loot system is alright but the online one is rubbish. The people who get the good stuff are always the ones who put in no effort and get about 3 kills, it shouldn't be based completely on luck it should give better stuff to people who are higher up the scoreboard otherwise there is no reward for doing well and you may as well sit around for the whole game and hope you get something good because you have just as much chance as anyone else in the game.

              • I have played many other games and have put in over 2,000 hours in each and never quite achieved the exact build/skins/gear I want. After putting in 30 hours and having almost everything I want at lv 27 I think it's safe to say the drops are fine. Quit complaining just because you are not lv 30 with legendary everything in the first few days of the game being released.

That's about the point the drop rate starts to get a little stale. I'm not one of these fancy brats complaining about everything, I love the game. But since level 24-25 getting anything to drop is a huge pain, even getting crafting materials feels like a freemium game. Sometimes I get on after work and play my usual 3-4 hour block and end up with nothing to show for it. The game has great progression ip until a point, then it just starts to feel really tedious. Anyway, if you want my 2c, I think the drop rate is like this so people don't max out at 30 too quickly. A lot of multiplayer rpgs boost the drop rate sometime after release. Cause you know if the game gave rewards for every single little thing, people would max out and complain there's nothing to do. On the other hand, go try farming ascendant shards for light level. It took me a week to get 6 for one upgrade and it barely moved my light level by one millimeter. It just doesn't feel like a good time/reward ratio. But I guess 20-30 is endgame and they don't want to make it too easy on us. You're right, life doesn't alwaya give you what you want, but isn't that why people play videogames?
