Only One Place to Use Vanguard Marks

Does anyone else not see what's wrong with this? As of right now, you can collect 100 Vanguard and 100 Crucible a week but only one faction uses Vanguard Marks. I enjoy PvP but there is no reason I shouldn't be able to spend both Marks at the 3 factions FWC, DO, and NM. Right now it seems unfair to the people that only play PvE because they only see one faction whereas the PvP and all around player get to experience 3 or more of the factions; I'm an all around player, I have 200 Marks in each right now. If the answer is simply because those are Crucible factions according to the lore, okay, that's understandable but where are the multiple factions for Vanguard? As of right now, I put on my FWC cloak and can earn Vanguard Marks and FWC Rep and the Vanguard Marks are useless to the faction. Why is it possible to even earn FWC Rep with Vanguard and Crucible Bounties if Crucible Marks are the only currency they accept? Right now this just seems like a flawed system that is forcing people to play more Crucible than they may want to play. Where we can spend Crucible Marks: Crucible Future War Cult New Monarchy Dead Orbit Where we can spend Vanguard Marks: Vanguard (Vanguard Warlock, Titan, Hunter together is the equivalent of one Crucible Vendor)

  • I made a thread a few days ago saying their should be someone in the tower that can convert Vanguard Marks to Crucible Marks and vice-versa. Figured it would be a good idea for this very problem.

    • Vanguard marks are a waste if you wish to chose to play another faction. There are 5 factions right now. 4 of them use crucible marks. While I don't feel it is fair to use vanguard marks for crucible factions (unless you make crucible marks usable by vanguard also) I do feel there should be an exchange system. Like a 5 to 1 rate. Which would increase the weekly max to 120 via conversion, but still make you wait longer than a week to purchase the rank 3 items.

There is a way to earn marks without setting foot in the crucible. But it takes a lot of time and patience. You can turn in materials to the crucible quartermaster for rep and marks (post lvl 20), just like you can with the vanguard quartermaster. It is a lot slower than playing in the crucible, but it's possible to do without pvp.

          • Yeah I don't really like it either. IMO factions should definitely accept both Vanguard and Crucible marks. Since I don't particularly care for PvP I end up maxing out my Crucible marks via map resources. Bought a nice set of Dead Orbit Gloves and a Helmet since the Cryptarch has been screwing me over on Engrams, even at Level 14.

            • yes, yes, YES! They either need the factions to accept both Vanguard and Crucible Marks...or have a seperate set of Vanguard factions. I know the argument is that you are representing factions in the crucible, but you can also wear their mark, bond, hood, out in the wild, representing them out in patrol too.

              • You also have the vanguard weapon vendor. All the gear is pretty similar, and technically you can only gain rank with one pvp faction at a time. I suppose if you were trying to focus on a specific stat then one vendor might be favorable over another, but all in all I don't feel I'm forced to do PVP.

                • Since you "represent" the Factions in the Crucible it does make sense that you spend Crucible Marks to buy their items. Maybe further down the line there will be more factions interested in the Vanguard Marks.
