Titan Guide

I’ve noticed that not many of you have spent too much time experimenting with the Titan class. Frankly, I feel sorry for you. Level 24 at the moment, I feel I have obliterated enough MOBs and annihilated enough Guardians in the Crucible to write a decent enough class guide. Amour, Recovery, Agility. Ranking up your Titan subclasses will let you choose which of these to focus on. Anyone who has seen me in a strike or has been unfortunate enough to stare down the barrel of my “Invisible Hand” shotgun in the Crucible (you wouldn’t have been staring down it for long) will know that I play a very close quarters game. This play style perfectly suits the Titan’s strength, which is, of course, its strength. Ha. I max out armour and recovery, forgetting about agility. (You never run away as a Titan). With armour maxed out you can stand in the beam of that big, annoyingly bad-ass ogre boss on the moon strike (level 22 weekly heroic strike) while comfortably firing at the weak spot in his belly. Shield finally gone? Step to the left, wait a second to recover, repeat. Simple. As far as abilities go, “Lift” for the jetpack is insane. Extremely useful for navigation but also gives you a tactical “high-ground” advantage. Plus, you can float for ages allowing you to recover once Close Quarters play gets a little frantic. Fist of Havoc, Hulk Smash, Ground Pound, Armageddon – whatever you want to call it – is incredible. One of the abilities bolted on to the super is to leave pulsing arc damage after the initial boom. Great for taken out elite mobs or blocking bottle necks. Another ability increases the duration of the pulses of your grenades AND fist of havoc. Useful to combine the two. Storm fist, the Titan’s melee, is the best in the game. Granted, the Hunter knife can be overpowered, but I can take out four, five, six enemies with a single hit. How? Land a storm fist and EVERYTHING in the immediate vicinity (they do have to be close) goes blue and disintegrates too. Great for the Hive Thrails that come in annoying packs. As for grenade type, the one that sticks to a surface and shoots bolts of lightning are incredibly powerful. They do as much as 2500 PER PULSE to the big spider tanks. An ability to unleash a devastating shoulder barge melee attach after sprinting for a short while is cool. Especially in PVP. Stick to closed areas and corridors and you’ll be fine. The other subclass with the Ward of Dawn bubble shield will be great in things like raids as an excellent support class. But a Titan’s main duty, his talent, is crowd control.
