I'm of mixed ethnic backgrounds, one being Japanese so I've been brought up on various groups through family and friends. How about you? Any groups you'd like to share?

I listen to a lot of foreign music, a lot of German metal. And then Vocaloids and stuff.

Foreign music? Yes. Music in a language I can't understand? Not so much. It's not so much that I dislike listening to things in a language I can't understand, it's that I like to understand the lyrics, and I find learning other languages incredibly difficult because I'm just incredibly bad at pursuing a single long time goal such as learning a new language and while I could just look up a translation or put the lyrics through Google translate, I am eventually going to forget them and so I can't be bothered to do it the first time around. That said, in this day and age, to avoid listening to music from other countries in this age of instant communication, I would have to rigorously check that the artists and and their styles of music are home-brewed, and even if I were xenophobic to such a degree that I would actually consider that, I'm also incredibly lazy. With that long-winded monologue about myself out of the way, I'm going to post some music that is foreign from an English-American standpoint. Can't guarantee that any of this is new to any of you, but I tried. Skiltron-One Way Journey: Argentinian Metal band, sings about Scottish stuff. Apocalyptica-Farewell: fairly well-known Finnish metal band that uses classical instruments, does a lot of cover songs of more famous bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica, though I think their own stuff is pretty good. Röyksopp-You Don't Have a Clue: Those of you that are more techno-oriented may already be familiar with this band. Röyksopp is a Norwegian techno duo that I think has a nice collection of slow, quiet songs that go well with staying up all night arguing with people on the internet while pretending that you'll finish your homework and go to sleep. Kings of Convenience-Boat Behind: Another Norwegian duo, not techno, though. To be honest, I don't remember what genre their stuff is, and I'm too lazy to go looking them up on Wikipedia. Nightwish-Escapist: Some Symphonic Metal band from Sweden or something, pretty certain the Flood's Metal fans already know about them. Leaves Eyes-Skraelings: Norwegian Symphonic Metal, does some death growling in their songs, I'm personally not that fond of it, but other than that, I don't have much against them. Deathlike Silence-The Headsman: Swedish Metal band, likes singing about death and such. Dark Moor-In the Heart of Stone: Power Metal band from (I think) Spain. Right, that's it for now, sorry for the focus on Scandinavian Metal, will edit if I think of anything else before I forget about this thread.

“one ok rock"is the best among the jpn

Yep. Some of my most favorite bands, artist and groups are foreign. Potato (not the thai rock band) Silly Fools The Pillows Maximum the Hormone I could go on. I'm trying to get into the more traditional foreign music though and not just common genres in different languages.

Any relation to Hitomi Tanaka?
I wanted to see what happens next in the fairytale So I couldn't see what was right next to me It's going to tear off That complacent, flirty smile and everything I've found something beautiful So before I lose sight of it again On starry nights like this I thought, I want to see you Even if It means abandoning everything else On starry nights like this If you were with me I wonder what we would talk about and stuff I try to distract myself by fiddling with My shoelace that had almost come untied It's only two more stops, but it seems so far away If I'm not going to give up, then there's no reason to panic I've found something beautiful So before I lose sight of it again On starry nights like this I thought, I want to see you Even if It means abandoning everything else On starry nights like this If you were with me I wonder what we would talk about I thought there is no such thing as Unchanging over a thousand years I wonder how I could miss it My friends I thought there is no such thing as Unchanging until it ends I wonder how I could miss it On starry nights like this I thought, I want to see you Even if It means abandoning everything else On starry nights like this If you were with me I wonder what we would talk about and stuff
Japanese original (Kanji - Romaji)
Otogi hanashi no tsuzuki wo mitakute Sugu soba no mono wa mienakatta Heiki ni natta kobita warai mo Matomete zenbu hagare ochiru you na Kirei na mono wo mitsuketa kara Mata mienaku naru mae ni Konna hoshi no yoru wa Subete wo nagedashitatte Doushite mo kimi ni aitai to omotta Konna hoshi no yoru wa Kimi ga itekureta nara Nani wo hanasou to ka Hodoke kaketeta kutsu no himo wo Ijiri mawashite ki wo magirawasu Ato futaeki ga BAKA ni tooi Akiramenai nara aseru koto mo nai sa Kirei na mono wo mitsuketa kara Mata mienaku naru mae ni Konna hoshi no yoru wa Subete wo nagedashitatte Doushite mo kimi ni aitai to omotta Konna hoshi no yoru wa Kimi ga itekureta nara Nani wo hanasou to ka I thought there is no such thing as Unchanging over a thousand years I wonder how I could miss it My friends I thought there is no such thing as Unchanging until it ends I wonder how I could miss it Konna hoshi no yoru wa Subete wo nagedashitatte Doushite mo kimi ni aitai to omotta Konna hoshi no yoru wa Kimi ga itekureta nara Nani wo hanasou to ka
The Germans are still the Meistermenschen in regards to music. Everything else is simply inadequate without the German touch.

Well I've listened to Crossfaith before and they're of Asian descent. Not really sure if that counts.
