If you are a hunter FWC gear needs ascendant motes for the final upgrades (defense). ascendant motes can only be obtained from raids, in smaller amounts from nightfall events and rarely from other sources in the world. I've not gotten a single one from doing something in the world (and even if I had, it would only have been like 1 or 2 after decrypting), so it seems like the only way to get them is by doing raids or nightfall strikes. let me put this into prerspective: I'm lvl 25 right now, about 8 light away from getting to 26. I have 2 legendary armor pieces that (if fully upgraded) would be enough to get me to lvl 26. but I cant upgrade them because I need a material that you can only get by doing lvl 26+ activities. in the meanwhile I would have easily been able to upgrade them if they were from a different faction. legendary armor from other vendors needs ascendant shards for the final upgrades. you get ascendant shards in the crucible and rarely from other sources in the world (I got some after decrypting stuff). I have 14 of them just by playing the game without ever specifically farming for them. on top of that, both as a titan and as a warlock upgrading FWC gear asks for shards, not motes. I dont see how that makes any sense. choosing to level up and buy gear from FWC as a hunter puts you at a disadvantage at this point and needs fixing.
