Fun with the Titan defender subclass
I. Love. Defender. I really really do. It makes me laugh when I pop open the 'safety bubble' ,as I call it, and confuse the enemy in PvP. It's especially good for Control. If you're trying to capture B and there are 3 enemy's coming at you, pop up the safety bubble and they have no idea what to do. The number of times they have tried to run in and punch me or shotgun me. I just bop them in the head and laugh. The melee is good too. I think it was on moon I took down 3 guys on A because shotgun, punch, get overshield, kill other two. The way I see it, defender is underrated, by this I mean I see almost no one use it. I get it depends on play style but I think that people just don't like it because 'it no get den kills'. Well, that's just me saying why I like the Defender subclass. I'd love to hear what you think.
Side notes:
-it is also very good for distracting bosses.
-It has a grenade that is odd but effective, it makes a big kind of Void cyclone which is VERY effective on the Cabal with the shields.
-it is also badass when and enemy in PvP shoots a rocket as you deploy the shield.

I like how the bubble has the hidden effect of common sense reduction for opponents. I dropped the bubble in front of 4 guys on bastion in mars, and they proceeded to try to fight me kung fu movie style, one at a time. They probably could have taken me if they rushed me at once, but they decided to get beat down one at a time instead.

1 ReplyI love activating my Bladedancer when Defenders put up their shield. I just run in and slash everyone in there into pieces.

2 RepliesSee I do see a few using it in strikes I don't myself yet but now I have fully unlocked everything on the striker subclass I think I'm going to work on defender. That being said what's the point in locking you're subclass? I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to be able to switch between the two of any class.

3 RepliesI love it to, and you can A have an extra shield from the bubbel or B have better damage. I personily have B i shoot then sombody dead in two shots (not headshots) and normaly in three (agian not headshots) and the magnetic grenade is so handy, i mean he runs away and my grenade still hits the target.

2 RepliesDon't get too cocky! As a titan myself I love when two or three enemy huddle in that bubble and I fist of havok into them. I see that's the best counter to the bubble as most don't expect it . But I love the defender as well so Much more utility and super uses cuz often as a striker I find myself holding out on FoH super for the right moment. We titans gotta stick together I swear I am the only titan on most my teams

There's nothing like dancing in my bubble in pvp to taunt a foolish enemy into my shotgun cage.

I love my defender, it's very gratifying to drop Ward of Dawn on a capture point or salvage relic. Some enemy players blindly charge in to meet my buckshot and fists Some enemy players wait for it to drop only to get perforated by my teammates

I have been using defender for PVE and striker PVP, but I might give the defender a try next time I go into a control match. I love to lift jump into a hoard of mobs, chuck a grenade and open up with my auto rifle. Never gets old!

2 RepliesI love defender. I am currently trying to work with my friend to devise a pvp strategy that lets me generate orbs so he can 9as a warlock) activate his grenade cooldown ability. Then I just spam the shit out of the ability dampening grenade to shut down the opposition. It's tough to get it to work right though.

I love my defender. I liked the striker too but I wanna max out the defender first. It's good to see other ones out there. I have yet to run a mission with one so I am looking forward to it.

It's also great when you go down during a boss and they are camping your body (mars strike tank). Than your teammate runs over, pops his bubble, mid revive and the enemy foes super blast, and it doesn't do anything to him while he is picking you up. Awesome.

As a PvE centric player I enjoy the subclass to, nifty cover and a very tanky class, always loved a warrior class in RPG.

I see Defender all the time in the Crucible. I'm still using Striker to get that Titan Mastery trophy, but I'm excited to try out Defender afterwards.

I LOVE my bubble.....I've killed so many that try to kill me while in it. it's fantastic.
