Allow me to explain, I've been playing this game between my classes at the University non stop for the past week and I'd like to share some of my research.
I've seen:
Luck:The worst players in Crucible often get the best loot , seen a player that had a .4 K/D get the Exotic Sniper (Patience and Time)
Skill: Doing the Weekly Nightfall strike yields Legendaries and Exotics quite often, requires skill, patience, and coordination.
Luck: People who farm for hours get a bunch of greens and blues, but someone gets a random drop for a legendary it just so happens to decrypt into an Exotic.
Skill: Competing in the Crucible and doing Missions for Vaguard Rep yield legendary rewards from Marks, as well as other nice things!
So my question is this, have you Guardians been relying on "Skill" or have you just been getting "Lucky"? /discuss

90% luck if your playing while sick lol

Both! When I get bored of farming, I'll go do strikes or crucible matches and vice versa.

I got my exotic sniper when I had the top score on my team in the crucible. Also it takes forever to level up your legendary and exotic gear. So at the beginning it really just is a high damage or high defense piece.

100 percent concentrated power of will

& 100% reason to remember the name

I do strikes get nothing. Kill a random enemy I get exotic sniper/chest piece...Bungie logic...

15% concentrated power of will, 5% pleasure, 50% pain 100% reason to remember the name. But seriously luck is a huge factor with loot drops, it is practically the only way to quickly level past 20.

How are you playing the non stop.. But between classes? Shouldn't it just be between classes?!

i definitely see your point. My two friends and i all play together and actually just yesterday i got my first legendary engram, which contained a legendary chest piece. One of my friends has already obtained 4 legendary pieces and an exotic weapon, and the other still is waiting for a legendary piece.

I noticed that once you start running the level 22 strikes and above for Vanguard, you get a lot better loot drops in mission. The main problem and where "luck" comes into it is at the cryptarch. I was really excited to get my first few legendary engrams from a couple of strikes, only to facepalm when they decrypted into ascendant shards or blues that were like level 15-16 items. It kind of paid off last night though as I finally got my first legendary piece for my warlock after running Nexus.

Skill. Farming is way too boring for me, and I usually get legendary engrams pretty often so there is really no point for me to farm.
