Crucible Mark Limitation (Explination Needed)

I understand the need for balance in a large scale game such as Destiny. What I don't understand is the (seemingly) small amount of Marks that you can earn during a 7 day period. I had a few hours to play today between shifts at work, not a major sitting, and I managed to rack up the majority of the Marks that I have been allowed to attain during the week, meaning I have to wait week to buy any more of my faction gear. Does anybody know of the reasoning behind the cap? ...or if it will get increased in the future? I've only played a few MMOs in my time, so never really caught on to why certain mechanics were in place. I'd love to advance and level at my own pace, not the pace that Bungie has set so that I level the same as other players with a different play style. Thanks guys.

  • It is so that people who value their gear more than their lives and sanity, don't rush through and get geared up before everyone else. In a game like this that turns off the huge casual player base. If everyone has the same cap, yeah you can still get good gear if you put the time in and are lucky, but you can't earn it faster than players with less playtime. Leaves the playing field more even

    • Because that way getting only 100 a week a legendary cost 150, meaning that a legendary essentially cost 1.5 weeks worth of work. Think about all the people that would hear up with only legends
