Let me start by saying I love destiny, and I enjoy that bungie put in the D-pad emotes but it could use a simple touch to make it much more effective as a form of quick, mic-less communication. •We need to be able to make preset messages. For example, I hold up on the D-pad for the wave animation then, I use the left stick to pick which of the 3 preset messages I have set for "wave" so I could quickly greet someone with a wave and "Hail, guardian!" or if I see my fireteam is about to be overwhelmed, I pick the second preset which waves with a "Fall back!" Or point, I would set one for "Over there!" Or another for "Take cover!" With sit, I could easily tell my teammates "BRB" without having to message them each individually. And even with dance I could choose between "awwww yeahhh!" Or "Party up :D" With this fun and flexible system in place, it could be useful even in the crucible to quickly alert teammates to enemy movements or call for backup. Or even just for fun outside of the crucible
