Gaming websites product their reviews all on the same system...In the shortest time possible. Due to project time constraints, they speed through games. The problem? Destiny isn't a game that truly begins until far after level 20. The other problem? Destiny is not like any game we've seen before, making it hard to find a basis to view the game on at all. Take every single game review with a grain of salt because these companies complete their reviews under the expectation of releasing the final verdict as close to retail release as possible. Not based on a true experience that comes overtime.

I've noticed something. everyone giving this game passible ratings has played with their friends. Try playing alone, experiencing the same map over and over gain with absolutely no one to talk too, the sheer lifelessness of the game, then you'll experience the true essence of destiny.

Thank you for your vid, it brought some interesting points. Never cared about reviews for anything, usually never even read them. Have been a Bungie fan since 2001, love Bungie's work and I was going to buy the game regardless. But the last thing I expected was a weak story delivery in a Bungie game and everyone having to rush to its defense. Story telling is not easy and sometimes the magic is just not there. It's not there for me. Finished the campaign stories/episodes and don't have any attachment to any characters or plot. As this first installment lays the foundation for the stories/episodes to come, it was a good reason to make it engaging from the start. That said, this is coming from someone who plays linear campaigns (still playing all the Halos to date lol) and need to find an emotional element and a world I want to be in to continue being interested and come back often. Point and shoot is not enough for my game play style, don't care for MMO and RPG features. You can't please everyone, I am sure many find the game sufficiently fun to get hooked and keep playing it for years. As for game play mechanics, felt comfortable in PvE, it's incredibly rewarding to shoot stuff and get better gear, up until the point where I'm not even sure if I already played a mission because they all look the same... I am complete garbage at PvP, but that is entirely coming from my lack of skills and I can see how fun it is for the people who have those skills down. Will keep on trying to improve ;) My only awe moments were paired with combat and Marty O'Donnell's music, a magical combination without the need of a script. Destiny is a brave new world, thumbs up to Bungie for trying something new and different. There is far more positive than negative in the end result to please most.

one week of content.................

People need to realize that all content (Including Story) within the game expands via [b]Patches[/b] and [b]Updates[/b]. For some reason majority of the people complaining forget what Bungie is trying to do with Destiny. It's an ever expansive shared space that continues to grow in all aspects of content. Catering to the [b]Casuals[/b] and [b]Hardcore[/b].The game has been out for a week. The game from the ground up was never designed to be completed within 7 days. So stop the whining and listen or read the interviews.

Crap story. Narrow content that is lacking. No incentive. Awful PVP. Terrible loot system. inb4 accused of whining ;_;

they drop the ball in a few aspects...for example the loot system has to be renewed.... i have been grinding for 3 days now not found anything good while other players are finding so many good things....those are things that make rpg/mmo players turn there back and never look back....The tower need to be expanded and communication need to be availble give us a way to type things to other players(for example text balloons pop up) make it a real social hub like in other mmo. On the other hand gameplay is one of the best i saw in any video game.the controls are spot on,the gun mechanics are more then perfect and so on. Conclussion: The foundation to become the best game on console is there.If they can fix the things above and update the game monthly with new stuff new locations new possibilities)like real mmo i'm sure it will be the best.... Till then for me destiny stays awesome but with a identity crisis not knowing where it belongs and so many genre's mixed without one being worked out perfectly

The game positively sucks.

Great game, after a week of playing currently an 8/10 for me which can be improved on with time... It has good foundations laid down, but I feel destiny badly needs proximity chat, matchmaking for every mode to appeal to a wide player base... If it doesn't happen I feel players will lose interest further down the line, turn to more easily accessible social games.
