Grimoire Cards and Immersion

As much as I love discovering more about Destiny lore via the Grimoire cards, I feel like it's just immersion-breaking to have to do it through some app or website. After picking up a dead Ghost or encountering a new enemy, it would have been cool to just pull up its respective Grimoire passage through an in-game menu or something. Then I feel like this Guardian that I've become attached to is discovering something mysterious and forgotten in the depths of the Hive Necropolis or in the buried city of Freehold, but instead there's just me deciding to flip through the Destiny app during a long poop. Bungie has created a very interesting universe that, unfortunately, doesn't reveal anything about the stuff I'm interested in! What is the Darkness? Why do its armies fight each other if they're somehow all the Darkness' minions? Why the heck is Rasputin important enough to bring up on several different occasions? Who is the Exo Stranger and what is she up to? (It sounds more interesting than whatever my Hunter is screwing around with) Who are the Nine and when can I learn how they farmed their Exotics? Jokes aside, I hope that this changes in future updates and expansions. For me, the story was crushingly underwhelming considering Bungie's pedigree, which is a darn shame because Destiny is an absolute blast, gameplay-wise! I suppose its only been a week since launch, so only time will tell if there is more to the story we've kinda been told so far. tl;dr Destiny is very fun to play. The story is underwhelming and left me with more questions than answers. I read Grimoire cards on the pooper.
