Bullet sponge bosses in level 20+ strikes....

Bullet sponge bosses don't make the game harder, they just make it more tedious. They need to go. For example. the Mars strike with the Cabal lts/tank/chain gun guy....you spend 20-30 minutes sniping on the tank and another 30 minutes sniping the chain gun guy. The only challenge was not to just quit for taking so long. At one point I literally stood in 1 spot and emptied 4 clips of my scout rifle into the last bosses head and watch this guys health go no where. This is not fun.

  • This is exactly what I was worried about. The strikes require almost no strategy except "shoot things many times while not dying". Wanna bet that Vault of Glass will be more of the same?

  • There are no bosses which take 30 mins in a normal Strike as long as you are of comparable level. Stop being over dramatic.

  • Use interceptors on the tank, thats why they are there. As for the boss I dont find him that hard, just find a spot his chaingun cant hit you and then dodge the minions and his rockets and he will be dead in no time.

  • Or you guys are dumb, the bosses don't take me and my friends more than 3 minutes. Strikes take 15 minutes most of the time

    • You should be spending 30 minutes on an entire strike tops. You are doing something wrong if it takes you an hour for the two bosses alone. The only challenge is realizing you are doing it wrong and you need to fix it. The fact you haven't shows why you are not having fun.

    • Try saving the interceptors for the Tank battle. Having three interceptors tears that tank up very quickly. Just make sure to keep strafing. As for the Main boss, just keep shooting. If you want to talk about bullet sponges, play Halo SLASO. That's every single alien that has any form of shield.

    • Don't worry. Once you upgrade your gear a bit it will take much less time. 24s used to be slow and now it's a breeze. We are done before we know it.

      • They only last long when you dont have decent weapons tbh. Once you get a legendary weapon you notice a difference. My old pulse rifle would crit for 75, and now my legendary crits for 150. My exotic shotty crits for 1800-2500+ depending on range. Until you get better weapons the bosses will be bullet sponges, but it does get better.

      • Advice on the tank boss. If your group hasn't destroyed your own tanks yet you can take out the tank boss in just a few minutes. If you don't have any tanks left shoot at the 4 corners (wheels/tracks/legs/hover things or whatever they are I can't remember) and he will go down super fast. As far as bosses being bullet sponges... could the OP or someone who agrees with the OP please tell me how you would have the bosses go? I mean what challenge would there be if you could take the boss out with 1 super or a few clips? As far as I can tell there is no other way to have a final boss....and that is why every game that involves taking out a final boss involves a bullet sponge. If the health of a boss is not going anywhere then maybe your level is too low or you have bad weapons. If there were no challenges to overcome in this game it would be hella boring.

        • If the bosses are taking that long it's either you, your team mates, or all of you. Shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes. And in other games end game PvE bosses can take up to 15 minutes and have enrage timers. Strike bosses aren't very sophisticated

        • Boss encounters should last about 10 minutes MAX. There is no reason to have a 3 person strike mission have a boss that lasts 30 minutes just for the sake of "difficulty".
