My final thoughts

EDIT: Despite my posting this, I am still addicted one day later and that shows no signs of slowing. Got my first legendary gear today. I have completed all the strikes and missions and leveled my character to the point where I feel I can fairly judge the game. In a word, disappointing. The game itself is great! It's a fun game to play. The enemies are fun to mow down, flying around is neat, and the vast upgrade system & armor unlockables are keeping me playing long after I've maxed my level. The coop play is wild, and the Crucible is a refreshing change of pace from the typical CoD/Titanfall experiences. ...All that being said, the reason the game is disappointing is because I feel like I've already had the full experience. The most common response I see to opinions like this is "Hey, dude, screw you, it's an MMO that just came out. They're gonna add to it constantly, and the game is going to last for years." I hear that. I really do. I just don't see how Bungie can hold my interest for years when they're losing it after a week. I'll be fair; there's a lot I've yet to try. I haven't messed with a Crucible mode, or the strike playlists. But at the end of the day Destiny feels like a lifeless, sterile attempt at an MMO; a formidable attempt, but one that fell flat all the same.

    • I see where you're coming from, I do, and I almost began losing interest, but it drew me back in again. I don't know what it is about it, but to me the Crucible is just a blast, and the game itself, though the story rather short, is so exciting to me. It's still shining with potential, while already having my full attention. For you though, what I can really say is just, find your favorite game mode. Mess around with that, try others, try your hand in the Crucible, do the weekly strikes, and the playlists, have fun with the events when they come out. All else fails, just keep in mind that Bungie is seeing everyone's feedback, and will adjust accordingly how they see fit.
