I fixed some of your dialogue bungie.

We all know that the writer(s) who wrote most of the dialogue should be fired. It sounds incredibly awkward almost to the point of being unbearable. Bungie obviously needs a lot of help with their dialogue. One of my hobbies is creative writing, so I took the liberty of fixing some of their dialogue for them. You're welcome in advance bungie, and yes I will accept any job offers you give me. (In the beginning scene, when Dinklebot wakes the guardian up.
Ghost: Wake up. Wake up Guardian. *Guardian opens his eyes* Ghost: Ah, you're awake. I know you must be very confused and disoriented. You were dead for a very long time, so some disorientation is not unusual. But on the bright side, you are in better health than you've been in for a long time. That was a joke. I'm still working on my humor. You know, because you've been dead...and now you are alive.....nevermind, it doesn't matter. You are probably wondering what I am and why you are in a field full of rusty cars. Well, I've been sent by the traveler to bring you back from the grave and keep you alive. So I guess you can think of me as your ghost. The traveler created many like me to... *Fallen roar in the distance. Ghost: I'll have to explain later. We need to get out of here. If you remember how to move your legs, you need to run. Head towards that big wall, there is a passage.
(When fallen ships materialize out of the sky.)
The fallen have never come this close to us before! They are getting more tenacious. Either that or the darkness is getting closer than we think! Run!!!
(Meeting the speaker)
*guardian looks at the traveler, floating in the sky. Speaker: Do you remember it guardian? Guardian: No. I don't remember anything. What is that? Speaker: Legends say that long ago, humanity used to be a primitive species. One day, that mysterious sphere you see before you entered our system. Nobody knew what it was or where it came from. But we began to call it The Traveler. It brought with it the power to transform worlds and species. When the traveler arrived on Earth, its mysterious energies granted us the ability to travel across the stars. The human race entered a golden age of enlightenment and glory. Guardian: What happened? Speaker: We didn't know that the traveler was being pursued across the stars by a mortal enemy: The darkness. Details on the collapse of humanity's golden age are scarce, but what we do know for sure is that the darkness found the Traveler. There was a great battle of unimaginable scale. The darkness brought with it alien armies who were intent on doing its bidding. Their only desire was to wipe us out. They almost succeeded. If the Traveler hadn't protected us, we would have become just another part of history. But, the Darkness was repelled and humanity survived....barely. This city that you see now, is all that remains of humanity. The traveler was wounded from the battle and entered a deep sleep. Yet even today, as it rests, its light still protects the Last City on Earth, our bastion of hope. But now, it has given us another hope, you, guardian. Guardian: Me? Speaker: During its slumber, the Traveler began to send out its ghosts. At first we did not know what it was doing. But these machines began to search the Earth outside of the walls of the city. Using the traveler's light, they brought back to life champions who are able to wield its power. You were reborn Guardian, and in time you too, will be able to wield the Traveler's power. You will be able to venture beyond the wall to explore and reclaim our world. You will set foot in areas that have known no human contact for centuries. You will discover our past and help us reclaim our home. Guardian: What makes you think I can do this? Speaker: The methods by which guardians are chosen are unknown to me. But the fact that your ghost chose you, means that you are capable of greatness. I can only hope he chose wisely. Ghost: He had no clue where he was or who he was, yet that didn't stop him from mercilessly slaughtering a band of Fallen. I think I chose wisely. Speaker: Very well. Now guardian, I tell you this. The traveler has no voice to speak. Instead, it chose me to speak for him. The signs are showing a dark shadow falling over our system once again. We are not alone. Those Fallen you encountered are only the beginning. The Darkness is returning stronger than ever. When it arrives, it will wipe us out. You and the other guardians are our only hope. Now go out and help retake what was once ours.
(hacking...anything)
Ghost: This gate is locked. You know what to do guardian. Guardian: Can you try not to set off any alarms this time? *alarm* Ghost: Too late, sorry. Guardian: DAMMIT! Ghost: Hey, I'm trying to work as fast as I can. You let me stick to the fancy computer stuff, I'll let you stick to killing, looting, and dying.
(The hive mission)
Ghost: I have a bad feeling about this. Guardian: Why's that? Ghost: Well, it's dark, eerie, the walls have pulsating barnacles on them, and I am detecting a hundred hostile-sounding breaths and growls coming from monsters who probably want to kill us. Guardian: Yeah, that's a good reason to have a bad feeling. Ghost: Bad news Guardian, I think we may be about to encounter... *the hive starts attacking Ghost: THE HIVE! *after its over* Ghost: Well, you handled that nicely. But this is bad. The hive made their home on our moon. If they are attacking Earth, then the darkness is near. Cowbell.
(random fallen encounter)
Fallen Captain: argh blarghaghargh *smooch* Guardian: *moans and kisses* ohhhh....Captain Fal'ric.....feel free to kidnap me anytime..... Ghost: um.....Guardian, I hate to interrupt, but what the hell are you doing? Guardian: Dammit ghost! I'm using my wits to charm Fal'ric! Ghost: Our mission was to kill Fal'ric and take his code....not....whatever unholy thing you are doing. Captain Fal'ric: Argh blork block! Guardian: oh don't pay attention to him honey. Do that thing you did with your arms....YES THAT THING. OH BY THE TRAVELER'S LIGHT! Ghost: I'll just pretend I didn't see that.
That's all I have for now. I'll probably update this later.

 • As a creative writer, you need some work. Attend some creative writing classes at your local college. They helped me tremendously. When I read some of my old work I cringe. You want to show, not tell. Remember that.
