So I've been realizing that every time I turn on the Xbox and launch Destiny, I get the message that I have been logged out and upon going back in there is absolutely no game sound. Xbox One menu sounds are still there, just not the game. I have to back out to dashboard, and forcibly QUIT out of Destiny and re-launch it.
I don't know if this is a bug or not, or if it's isolated to me, but just wanted to pass the information along.
Edit: As some posters have mentioned, I don't need to actually Quit the game. Simply going to Guide, moving the cursor to a different tile, then moving back to Destiny and clicking into it will bring the sound back for me. Prior, if I simply went to the guide and went immediately back into Destiny that did not work. I had to first select a different tile.
FTR, I'm using an Astro Mixamp and optical output.

I have the same issue, except mine seems to carry 1 level worse. I get no sound if ive played destiny prior, (even if i log out of destiny, it still sends a you've been logged out message) but quiting and restarting the game doesnt help. I have to pull power from the xbox one, and then start up and reconfigure the wireless again (it works fine normally and with every other game, its just destiny that nukes it). Once that is reconfigured and im logged into live I can get sound again. This is a complete game ruiner for me. I really dont want to set up my network everytime I want to play. I'd much rather Destiny just didnt screw it up in the first place.

Same issue- one time I snapped the party app, selected a player to invite to the party, and when I returned to the game after that the sound had returned. However this seems to be an isolated occurence, not a dependable fix. If it's related, I also recently noticed sometimes starting up the game will cause this really irritating high pitched whine to be heard, garbling the rest of the audio ad making the game sound tinny. This has been isolated to Destiny, nothing else. Bungie- I know you have a lot on your plates guys. But if you could fix these, that would be awesome. Thanks.

I have the same problem I just press the menu button on destiny and quit it then start it again

Push xbox button on controler then push it agian
-
Just push the centre button on your controller so it takes you to home, then click back to the game and it'll be fixed :-)

I have had this issue. The fix that I found is to go to Home, open "help" for the game, then back out and re-enter the game. That should make the sound return.

Same issue here - have the devs said anything about this?
-
I also have this issue. When you restart the game you have sound but you have to quit the game first not resume it.

Same issue

Same here

Hmm. I've tried going to dashboard and going back into game, but it remains silent. So far I've only gotten by with shutting the game down. I will try accessing another app and going back next time. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

It's not just you. What I do is hit the home button and re-enter Destiny twice.

I've been having the same issue...it seems to be getting worse...at first i would just dashboard and it was fine but now its just a waiting game
-
You are not alone. Same problem here. Fixes if I press the xbox button then return to the game.
-
I had it on my ps4 just restarted tv and was fixed
-
I have had this problem

FYI, you don't have to quit the game. Just go to the dashboard, move your cursor and go back into the game. Sound will return.
-
Also flipping to tv and back within the Xbox will fix it

Edited by Scavenger23: 9/11/2014 11:34:27 PMI have a no sound issue as well but I just hop to the dashboard and hop back into the game and the sound works. I don't have to entirely shut down the game. Still needs a fix though
