Bug report: iOS App does not load Destiny character information

Title: iOS App does not load Destiny character information Description: After signing in, I can't access the legend, grimoire, or tower tabs, despite being able to see my information on bungie.net desktop, and also by searching for my gamertag. [b]WORKAROUND: 1. Unlink either your playstation or xbox account from the dashboard at bungie.net. 2. Sign out of your bungie account on the app. 3. Re-log in and you should be able to load the grimoire and tower. 4. Now re-link your account from step 1 on the bungie.net dashboard. [/b] Thanks to Svoss. Repro Steps: 1.) Sign in using microsoft account 2.) tap menu button in top left 3.) tap Legend, grimoire, or tower - error message 4.) restart app 5.) tap "tap to refresh characters" - different error message Result: message that says i need to create a character in destiny to view OR that its taking a while to load all the data Expected Result: seeing my character Notes: reinstalling, re-linking on bnet, deleting cache have no effect. neither does re-starting the app, then tapping refresh.   • i believe i have the same issue. when i first open the app, my psn friend list won't load. it tells me "Something went awry while trying to log you in." (my xbox friends list does work). the only way to get my psn friend list functioning is logging all the way out in the app, then logging back on. both friends lists will operate as normal temporarily until the next significant span of time has elapsed (usually a few hours).

    I had this same problem and finally found a work around. I believe it happens because of having both an xbox and playstation id associated with your bungie account. Here is what I did... 1. Unlink either your playstation or xbox account from the dashboard at bungie.net. 2. Sign out of your bungie account on the app. 3. Re-log in and you should be able to load the grimoire and tower. 4. Now re-link your account from step 1 on the bungie.net dashboard.

    • I got the same problem as you. Every time I try to go to Legend or something it says: You need to create a character in destiny to view your .... Also, when i go to my profile on the Iphone app it says: This account has not played Destiny.. I'm also using Iphone 5 by the way

    • Same problem here. iOS 7 on an iPhone 5. Everything worked fine in the beta, but now I can't refresh characters are view tower, grimoire, etc. The app is basically useless to me. This is a BIG DEAL considering that so much of the core game requires you to use the app. Come on Bungle.

    • Same troubles. iPhone 5s with latest os. Worked fine during beta. Though I ran 360 and ps4 characters then and only ps4 now.

    • Same issue. ios 7.x iPhone 5s Psn login and xbox both. Same issue with the web app using chrome on iPhone.
