Hi Guys,
i'm playing a Hunter, currently Level 14 and it seems to me, that the GoldenGun's seems to be a lackluster (too less dmg).
For Example:
I use a Level 14 Sniper and Heartshot (Crit) the Ogre (Level 12 Strike Boss) for lets say 1200 DMG (it has 3 Shots, same as the Golden Guns and has far more Range and it's easier to Aim with the Sniper)..
But with the GoldenGun's I make ~ 690-750 DMG.
And I cannot crit(Precisionkills, whatever it's called) with it. I mean I aim for the Heart and not yellow DMG Font on Screen. The DMG is the same, no difference between a Hit to the Heart or Feet.
As of now, the Golden Gun seems to be crap, because with a Handgun I can do more DMG quicker (Bigger Magazine, no Skillanimation needed to activate, etc.).

Golden Gun, Combustion, Keyhole. Fire into a dense group and watch everything die in a chain reaction of explosive ecstasy. There are some Strikes where one or two shots from it placed properly can clear out an entire group of enemies.

I was underwhelmed by golden gun as well. It would be better imo, if it just ramped up the next few shots of whatever weapon you have equipped by like 400%. Then you'd always want to use it when its up as a Hunter, it'd make those sniper crits effing HUGE, or whatever gun you go for. As it is now, I found it lacking, I got out of the habit of ever using it, and ran around with a full special bar all the time, just because my other guns were more reliable and hit harder. I switched to the other subclass and use the blade attack now, I love it now when my special becomes ready.

It's really not that great for doing damage to the boss because it doesn't count precision shots, but its awesome for quickly taking down shielded yellows (Majors/Ultras) and some of the tougher adds when you get to the higher level content boss fights. When playing the level 24 strikes I frequently switch between Gunslinger and Blade Dancer depending on the situation.

here is my take on the golden gun and what need to be either fixed changed or ...(shudders) buffed 1. the gun itself is very lack luster a it is a timed 3 shot revolver that drains over time that usually insta kills enemy's if headshots are taken but not if sheild are present and strong enough to reduce the damage 2. a fix to this would be a damage buff and take away the drain on the revolver it was put in place to have people not running around with an insta kill weapon in pvp or pve but ive had little to minuscule reason to use it in either one 3. an interesting take on the golden gun would be a variation on what golden gun you want for example i could have a 3 shot revolver or a single shot long range shot gun that does less damage over distance but massive damage up close 4. reason for changing the golden gun because it mixes up the play style of the hunter to not always be hiding in the background with a long range carbine i for one run around the map frequently capturing points and use the blade dancer skill its sad to see the golden gun skills gets left behind because of it any others have opinions on my post feel free to leave me a reply

You guys just need to learn to play the class. Head shots are the place to aim. Always end up one shotting with the golden gun unless it's a boss, they take 2

The golden gun does just fine in pvp

I expect to see GG get a buff sometime soon, or at least the ability to crit. It seems pretty ridiculous that a class called "gunslinger" who has a magic golden gun can't score precision hits with that gun.

Until bladedancer the hunter is not even a power factor, 3 time limited kills vs, electric nuke, lasting AOE or vs homing void nuke, lasting AOE Much balance
-
all i can say is in pvp these things are OP :)
-
Yes, same thing here, not sure it's a bug or by design. But a high level sniper rifle crits for more damage than Golden Gun (which doesn't crit at all). In PvP or on smallers mobs the GG is pretty fine, so for me it's more crowd control than damage booster...

Ur a hunter your meant to move quick and do damage as it opens
-
Yeah, in PvE, it seems to be a bit weak. They should just straight up buff the damage, since it'll one-shot in PvP regardless.
-
I definitely noticed the same thing. Not sure why we can't crit hit.

Totally agree. Every time I use my hunter I go from being the top contributor on my fire team (which are warlocks and Titans), to being nothing more than a liability. The class just feels totally lackluster to me IMO (especially in PVE). Gonna just stick to the other two instead.
