Don't get me wrong.

I've been a front passenger on the hype train for Destiny ever since I played the beta out of curiosity. I pre-ordered the white PS4 edition and lined up at midnight, picked it up and wriggled with excitement most of the last 72 hours. So what is my opinion of the game? Excitement and fear mixed with mild disappointment. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think destiny is a bad game what-so-ever. I thoroughly enjoyed the story mode and would happily play it again. But where is the mild disappointment stemming from you ask? Ahh, I'm glad you asked. End game content has been of huge discussion since players (like myself) have a nasty habit of obsessively racing through the story missions, realizing it had to end somewhere and asking what's next. Now getting to where end content affects me, I realize why it is so important. This leads me to a small list of things that I believe Bungie got so right, and oh so wrong. I would love to hear what everyone has to say, so please reply. Things SO RIGHT about Destiny: Scale: The feeling of stepping out onto each new planet for the first time and the shear magnitude of the environments are spot on. Gear: Legendary and exotic gear is HARD to earn, meaning people can't just buy their way into good gear, they HAVE to work for it. Supers: It is so so right, in so so many ways to be able to wield such awesome power against your enemies, whether in the crucible or against swarms of vex. Even though I always call BS when someone kills me with theirs. Artwork: If you've played the game, this doesn't need an explanation. Critical hits: Nothing better than satisfying single shot kills with a hand cannon going straight into a vex goblins abdomen. The beginning: The fact that this is only the base game and it will likely expand to epic MMO proportions makes wee myself a little. Things SO WRONG about Destiny: Ghost: Peter Dinklage's mundane, monotone voice acting. Story: The story line felt like me and my ghost were on an epic 'scan things and open doors' quest. Cruicible: You can melee attack an enemy resulting in their death, but if they melee you a split second after they kill you and even get rewarded with a 'postmortem' badge. Repetitive spawns: Oh dear god if you leave the proximity of the spawn location in any way and return, the exact same enemies spawn again...and again....and ....you get the point. Rip off? The story line did feel a bit short and repetitive for such a 'MASSIVE' game, and now they want to charge me $40 for more content? BOOOOOO Launch gear: It appeared that most of the gear dropped and earned during the 'pre-light-rating' part of the game was just several variations of the same sets. Using 1-3 base models and adding tiny variations and an A, B or C etc. Public Events: One of the selling points of 'patrol' mode was that random events would occur where lots of people could pool together and fight back the darkness. But I only saw a single event (which was a fallen captain running away before you could kill him) happen in several hours of patrolling and doing tedious 'missions'. Social interaction: The only way to communicate with other players is by either being in a fire team and using mic's, inspecting them or using one of the 3 standard interaction animations. I'm sure I've missed a whole bunch of stuff that others have picked up, so please, discuss!
