Constant Hawk errors and XBL disconnects

I've been pretty much unable to advance past the first mission of the moon yet despite hours of gameplay as every 5-10 minutes on average I'll either receive the hawk error code or suddenly disconnect from xbox live. The xbl disconnects only occur while playing Destiny. Also worthy of note; every time I receive the hawk error code I am not returned to the main menu, but am instead left with a black screen indefinitely. When I return to the dashboard after this occurs, it disconnects me from XBL and does not allow me to sign back in until I've signed out of my profile. The hawk errors at first only occurred upon transitioning between different sectors of Old Russia, but now they happen seemingly whenever. I'm playing on 360.

  • The really screwed up thing is, me and my friend live in the same house, and I'm getting constant hawk errors and full blown live disconnects, and they aren't. Same network and everything. Only been happening since the latest patch.

      Same Issue. I have been through all of their "networking solutions" and nothing helps. Would definitely like a word from Bungie on this. Xbox 360, Repeated Hawk errors and disconnects are getting real old real quick Edit: This has made this game completely unplayable since this bug has risen up. Any new info from Bungie on this matter would be great

      • Quick question, is everyone who is getting this a comcast/xfinity customer? Because I have been getting the same issue. It may be a direct issue between the destiny servers and comcast.. which sounds STUPID as it may be. But it happened while I worked for Netflix. Certain ISP's would cause certain errors not allowing customers to use Netflix. Maybe its the same deal.. but FFS, this is a huge game and xfinity is a big company, get this ish fixed already, if it be the case.

        • This issue is extremely frustrating. Please let us know what you are doing about this. The game is almost unplayable now. If you are not going to even attempt to fix it then I want my 90 bucks back for the game and expansion pass.

          • It's called using a Xbox 360. Bungie mostly cares for the next generation consoles. So don't expect to get the same care the next generation console players get.

              It is October the 4th, I am with Shaw, Broadband 100, using the motorola surf board gateway SBG6782, wired connection, I have forwarded my ports for my xbox 360 and created a static IP for my xbox as well. Destiny will tell me I am not signed into XBL, yet when I go to test my connection I will be signed out of XBL again, then signed out of my xbox then the connection will test fine. Occasionally the SBG will reset my NAT to moderate even though all my ports are open for XBL and destiny - 53,77,80,88,1900,2869,3704,3705,3330,1863,10243,10284. I am at the point where I feel like I am being messed with by someone purposefully. I constantly have to reboot my modem and xbox to get any continual playtime and am unable to commit to raids or playing with friends. There seems to be a problem with destiny and SHAW and the gateway they are providing. hawk and caterpillar are my two most common errors.

              • I am 62 yrs old and Destiny is my first online game experience. Love it, but at my wits end with the caterpillar and hawk error codes. I don't have time to waste and just want to play Destiny. I have followed all the internet connection guides several times and still don't work. Right now...feeling...can't even talk about it.

              • 6 months in and we are still being disregarded by bungie with them not addressing hawk/catapiller/disconnect issue on360s. Oh yes they announced on a weekly update DOC note that they did something about it, but it's bad as bad or worse since then. Tired of being halfway thru a PE I've waited 30 minutes to happen, or kicked to login while at last boss of a nightfall, or XBL parties lagging out constantly during raids, or any number of Grindy tasks that we labor thru only to be booted as we are about to finish bounty x y or z. Seriously Bungie, I get it. You want us all to buy Ps4. It's not happening but thanks for listening/

              • I have a 360 too and I keep running into the same error as the hawk error and Cala pillar error and it keeps signing me off Xbox Live too

                    • Hey I think I found of a solution to mine. You can go to my profile and see the thread I started under my account activity. You would have to activate "pass-through Mac Address" on your router. I have had zero issues since this has been done. Not guaranteed that it would work for you as well but it's worth a shot.

                      • Had these issues since lauch and from what I'm seeing from Bungie so far, they're here to stay. Might as well and try and get a refund.

                      • I think most of the community is thinking, "Wow, $500 Million budget for a game.?" Now, "$500 Million for a game.. That you can't even play." Same issues with Hawk, Caterpillar, and Ferret onces. Not my internet. 30Mbps Down 15Mbps up.
