You don't. breaking it down actually is what you do with it. Yeah kinda stupid. But you are using those parts to reinforce your other gear. striping out gold plating, replacing old worn barrels for polished ones... new springs. the items you get are essentially damaged.. that's why they have a preset max.. you aren't making them better, you are restoring them to their like new conditions. At least that's how I suggest you look at it if you want it to make any sense, lol
