Devil WALKer..........WALK

I know it was only a beta andmit wasnt the full game, it was to test things and make sure the game was a-okay but I was disappointed in the devil walker, once again im not jumping to conclusion that it sucks unlike most, but I think it we be cool if fallen walkers went full blown scarab from halo and hunted your ass down, like climbing over shit and just making it scary, if you dont already have this, I would like, if you do, good job, thanks bye

  • I'm curious to see if each enemy race has their own "devil walker" not literally ofcourse, I know the Hive have that ogre or whatever. However, that doesn't seem like it's on the same level as the Devil Walker. I would love to see the Hive equivalent.

    • Why not make smaller walkers that hunt you down but have lower armor and attack rating than the big walker. Just a thought.

        • The walkers are called different in every fallen house for example house of devils devil walker, house of exile ion walker. That's the walker names for those two houses but I don't know the other walkers names from the other houses.

            • You'd have an unplayable game if they did that. It simply has too many ways to "one-hit kill" players., and is too resistant to damage.

                I was expecting this when I played the beta tbh. As soon as you have more than just yourself in a public event, or if you're playing with one other friend, the devil walker is easily overwhelmed and it becomes a mediocre fight at best IMO. Due to it's lack of mobility, I could even peer from a spot and shoot it on my own during one of the strikes in old Russia. It couldn't even hit me back! Yeah, sure, the attacks it has are strong and it has a lot of HP, but I found the lower-class enemies surrounding it were more of a threat than the devil walkers themselves when we encountered them in the beta.

              • There's still the Harpy class enemy of the Vex. We'll just have to wait and see. Also, we only know of the expansion with images of a Hive Thrall and a Fallen Captain. Should the expansion be related to the specific enemy type, there's bound to be at least 2 more for the Cabal and Vex respectively. TLDR; let's wait for the full game and the expansions to come. Players' feedback will be more impactful when we fully explored everything.

                It is a bit funny how tanks don't utilise one of their main strengths...mobility. I will admit that they may as well have dropped a gun tower instead of these walkers. However, I hope Bungie understand this and this was just because of the beta. Because they did understand it in Halo with the Scorpion and the Wraith. There is also hope in that the footage we have seen of the Cabal hover-tank shows that it uses is movement more to flush you out of cover.

              • The devil walker is not really that scary as you put it. I found it more of an annoyance/obstacle to overcome. Really, I'm quite content with the super shield badass guys. Those guys need a nerf. Takes absolutely forever to bring one of those guys down.

                  • Agreed, I was a little sad it was as happy as it was just sitting up on top of it's drop location. It's threat system left a little to be desired as well. Shoot it, it turns to you, if your still in sight it shoots at you, if not it goes back to whoever else is currently shooting at it. Would also have been nice if the normal mobs in that area weren't so zone controlled during the fight and pursued you, attempting to pressure you out of cover for the Devil Walker to shoot at. I noticed quite a lot of enemy AI being heavily leashed in the beta and I'm hoping its just an old build and not so much the case in the full release. I can understand not having AI be able to be kited half away across the map or something extreme, give them priorities to defend, but occasionally they should sense blood and pursue a kill better.
