Well looks like every developer is getting tired of being annoyed by people using hateful speech online.
Tbh i agree with them but sadly its never going to end. People will call each other -blam!- to the end of time

What this petition will solve.
-
I can say whatever the hell I want, when I want, however I want.
-
26:05 I've lost all faith in most gaming news websites. It's a corrupt piece of shit industry and does not deserve to be called journalism. The only good gaming journalists left are people like Adam Kovic who does what he does because he loves games.

petition was signed by: Zoë Quinn (The Quinnspiracy) That whole petition stems from these past 2 weeks and the whole Anita and Zoe debacle. Everyone should really do the research before blindly signing such a toxic petition that is here to make gamers look stupid and 'forget' what we have been fighting for these past 2 weeks. If you wanna sign a REAL petition boogie2988's is much better. All the 'harassment' and 'hate' Anita and Zoe receiving from a few fabricated sources or people does not make every gamer like that. Because guys and gals ... clearly, I mean CLEARLY WE ALL (all of us gamers) are harassing, hateful, and mean towards each-other and sent them threatening mail. This petition will calm us down to be civil people because clearly we aren't humans with a conscience and this petition will sit us straight, we need to be reminded not to be mean online. Shame on us for voicing our opinions to protect the true gamer identity and then being blamed for these past 2 weeks while corruption in our industry turns it upside down, yeah shame on us ... not the people who made the whole mess. Yeah I'm not signing some petition that assumes we all bad and associating myself with someone like Zoe who abused the gaming industry and fellow gamers to get fake reviews for her game, then in turn won't face the facts. Then we have a fake 'critic' named Aninta who blocks all comments and open dialogue to spread nonsense that all gamers are misogynist even if people's arguments have nothing about misogyny and more about her fallacies in her videos. Sure I'll sign it once they stop shutting out gamers and putting people like Zoe and Anita in pedestals and expose them for the viruses they are to our gaming industry. The media may side with them because they'd rather report a juicy story that gamers are bad and not the truth of these past few weeks but eventually they will lose. Allowing them to block off communication with us, the gamers the people who keep the industry alive, and then making us all the bad guys is not going to make people happy. Besides Boogie2988's petition is spot on. This one above a load of crap to make it look like some sort of 'truce' and we can just all 'move on' and totally forget about what transpired these past few weeks. Sorry but I will not be fooled so easily. Just think, this petition wouldn't have stemmed if the events of these past few weeks didn't occur. It was never about making everyone play nice online. It's about saving face and I don't buy it. Gamers aren't bad people and I won't sign a petition that is signed by people who assume by default we are bad.

Edited by Jotaro Kujo PhD: 9/2/2014 8:38:24 PMIf this is a result of the never-ending Quinnspiracy, I'm going to blow a -blam!-ing gasket. I cannot take this anymore. I am so -blam!-ing done with all these -blam!-s assuming all gamers are misogynist, hateful bigots. Really, they need to take a look in the -blam!-ing mirror, because they're the ones who are trying to stereotype an entire demographic. There are going to be idiots who take hate too far in every group, but stereotyping doesn't solve any problems.
-
They can all suck my balls, especially EA.
-
I'll sign it when every one of them signs This.

They're just butthurt that every 12 year old has banged their Mum
-
Edited by MeatShieldGriff: 9/4/2014 9:44:06 AMHate swings both ways. Developers seem to think we are the problem. What they don't realize is people who berate and defame the general population of a major entertainment industry are going to upset them. You get people who call gamers misogynistic r@pists and make articles and videos to that effect and you don't expect backlash? Now you get the normal dissenters like me who don't send death threats and instead defend our dignity. I don't harass devs, activists, or other notable people. So why treat us like we're the problem?
-
Yeah generalize all gamers because the vocal minority are assholes....how's Boogie's petition going along?
-
If we don't stop being aggressive, EA might punish us by no longer releasing DLC and Microtransactions, and Phil Fish might cancel 100s of his projects! Oh, whatever will we do?
-
signed the petition :)
-
Putting out a petition isn't going to do anything. What they need to do is put their foots down over Xbox Live and PSN and start putting restrictions in place for people who are aggressive towards others. Enforcing their rules. And actually listening to people who report and investigating. But instead they're just calling us a bunch of neckbeards and saying the problem is us and not them. Pretty pathetic.
-
This is stupid. There is already a mute option no more steps are needed.
-
Edited by ChaosMetalMarty: 9/4/2014 12:27:07 AMIt's literally just them trying to shut GamerGate up without having to address the bigger issues like people sleeping around of paying for press coverage. Besides a petition is not going to change how people act online
-
But im a hateful person
-
I'll sign it when they start putting out the hole game and stop holding back stuff for dlc and micro transactions.
-
Edited by ShaughnTr0n: 9/3/2014 9:58:35 PMEh. This whole thing stemmed from the Zoe Quinn debacle. And as much as I don't like a 12 year old calling me a -blam!-, I don't enjoy policing the way people talk even more. Too much time on 4chan might be the cause of that though. That being said, Go fuck yourself Kotaku!
-
It's nice to see Quinn and Anita using their SJW pull to bully devs and publishers into supporting their shit so they don't have campaigns waged against them that claim that they're supporting misogyny.

Nice to see studios are too busy actually making games to give this meta-industry trash the time of day.

It's never gonna end, it's great that devs are looking to push down the hate but it's not gonna happen.
-
The problem isn't people calling each other names. The problem is people being victimized over it. Narcissism, really. If anybody is having trouble gaming, which, is silly to think your personal life comes up often enough online for this to be an issue, they can always use those fantastic mute functions.
-
What a bunch of -blam!-
