The Playstation network was offline yesterday (Sunday 24th) due to a cyber attack. Xbox Live and some other gaming networks were also hit
With destiny's release only 2 weeks away, I hope any possible future hacks or cyber attacks against the console servers won't also force the bungie/activision servers offline - I imagine that destiny is exactly the kind of big online game that the hacking group would likely want to target

Day 1 of release on PSN: Server crash, major down time. Day 9+: Hacks, crashes, more hacks. Day 1 on XBL: Small chance of crash, short down time. Day 9+: .1% of PSN's issues have a chance of happening. Moral: PSN's security is a POS. they spend too much on the exclusivity of Destiny (and far too low memship costs) to even pay to upgrade their defense. XBL may have higher costs, but it has been hacked (to my knowledge) once and was down 1-2 days (as to PSN's like month?). Plus we (XBL) who wish to continue where Bungie left Halo will be chillin with less populated servers and worlds, which as a PvEr, I enjoy. Less people=less server strain=less potential problems.
As to the Halo bit, it just means a waste of $ to get another console for 1 game when Halo continues on X1.
