IMO finishing a game's missions and activities does not necessarily mean YOU'RE finished with the game. For example, I "finished" the Destiny beta but I continued to play the missions over and over.
What do you think about all of this?

Okay then no game is finished ever according to those standards, how does that make destiny special?

I'm not sure how we should take those responses. Why is everyone so concerned about the length it takes to complete the game? What is "complete the game"? Leveling up? Getting ALL the loot and gear? Doing every side mission/story in every mode? This sounds more like a discussion on re-play value. As long as it doesn't feel repetitive, it's all good. I've played countless hours of Mass Effect and I will never finish the game. But ME has a story, you can kill/choose one character over another and get a completely different take on missions. I don't see this applying here. As far as Crucible and PvP, as long as they keep it fresh, new maps, etc. and the game play is good, people will come back. PvP is what has gamers still play Halo games.
Deej said players can expect to find out more about Bungie's post-release plans for Destiny this weekend at PAX Prime.
Can't wait to hear it.
"Until you've kicked every single ass that plays this game, you haven't finished. And once you have, someone else just bought their first copy. So, fresh meat, Christmas noobs."
Lol wut? Every single ass will indeed take a lifetime, or two... I'm not that ambitious or talented. I'll be happy to kick a few arses if it's fun.

They've mentioned things about Nightfall Strikes, which are new missions/strikes that change on a daily/weekly basis (not sure which one). Also mentioned that with raids the gear you can win is on a weekly basis (get them once a week for beating it), and the gear changes from week to week.

That's just pr talk

You mean like as if there were new missions everyday forever like in Halo Reach, or if there were infinite repeating quests/missions like in Skyrim? Well then I guess you could say you're "completed" the game once you've completed every single type of mission at least once, maybe.

this will be a fun game but trust me its way smaller then you think and I hope updates and dlc content don't just fall into the old pvp fight maps and they keep a lot of new pve content like new worlds coming and not just random mailman missions on the same planet over and over ill gladly buy dlc content if its new worlds and missions to explore if the game stays this tiny and focuses on pvp crucible crap tll be a fun week or two but that's prob all well get outa it I don't want another cod I want more of the rpg elemenyts
