BUNGIE Please Hear Me About RAIDS
Please please please do not dumb it down or nerf the mode just to cater to people that want the game their way. Stick to your gut decision and keep things the way you made it! Don't add match-making. I understand and respect your decision on why you chose not to include it for this mode. You will have a wave of people complaining and talking about how they don't like it and since the people that dislike something usually voice their opinions the most developers tend to listen to them thinking they represent the masses. Too many games have been ruined by complainers, entitleist, and unskilled gamers voicing their opinions the loudest. I'm gear to say great job Bungie, keep doing what your doing. For every one person that says they hate it there's 10 more that loves it. In the words of Charlie Sheen you guys are WINNING!
[b]Update:[/b] After reading Bungies recent weekly update I'm confident they will stick to their guns. They are very generous with allowing your progress to be saved up to 7 days to complete a raid. I am glad to hear the new information and Bungie is continuing to do a great job. I love that only the character i complete a encounter with will be locked out from getting more loot. I planned on having multiple characters anyway.

9 RepliesI get why people don't want matchmaking for raids. All of your reasons are justified and correct. But just because it is there, doesn't mean you have to use it. There could be a system where you don't have to go into matchmaking for raids (if it existed). You can just gather your party of 6 and go into the raid like matchmaking doesn't exist. Having matchmaking will have no effect on you as long as Bungie doesn't change the raids to cater to unskilled players. How this mathcmaking system could work has several possibilties. The matchmaking for raids could be designed to only find people to play with, not to actually complete the raid. For example, in matchmaking, the raid would automatically end after you kill the first boss or maybe when the entire party dies. This would cut down the time it takes for these matchmade raids and give a taste of what the raid is like. At the end of that, you can then decide to party up with whoever is there and restart the raid with a party of 6 and try to actually complete the entire raid. Basically, the only way to actually complete a raid is with a party of 6. If you have a party of 6, you don't go through matchmaking at all and you can progress completely through the raid. If you don't have a party of 6, you can go into this raid matchmaking system that will match you with other players and give you a short taster of that raid. This would be the ideal method to find players if you are the first person to level 20+ out of your friends and want to do raids.

9 RepliesMatchmaking would be brutal, think of all the rage quitters, squeakers, whiners, complainers, I'd rather have people in my friends list that I've talked to and I know are mature enough to work as a team with some minor griping over some unknown randoms. People shouldn't have a hard time finding others for raids, Hence why matchmaking is pointless, it's called go to the tower make some friends who seem decent, and go from there.

26 RepliesIt astounds me that people defend the lack of matchmaking. Do you really give a **** if someone has the chance to try a Raid with a pickup group? Does it somehow diminish your gameplay? In reality, objecting to matchmaking is a simple superiority complex. People think they somehow deserve to play more of the game because they are willing to populate their friend list with random people to get around an artificial barrier to gameplay. The truth of the matter, is that having a potentially bad experience with a pickup group, is a better option than restricting the ability to do Raids entirely. It's my choice to try a raid with random people or not - at least it SHOULD be my choice. After all, I paid the same amount of money for the game experience as someone with 200 "friends" on their list.

5 RepliesOP, I thought this was another whine about the lack of MM. +1 like..... Luke Smith has clearly pointed out the need to solve puzzles and each member will need to contribute. Have just one who is an ass will probably stall a Raid and waste a lot of time. So yeah... KEEP RAIDS FROM THE KINGDOM OF NERFDOM TWONKS BUNGIE. Peace, out.

1 ReplyAbsolutely agree, hope Bungie doesn't do any nerfing even after the second raid is released and if they feel like they must for some reason change some things take another page out of WoW's book and make mm but for a dumbed down version with way more limited and worse quality gear I personally would rather not even have that implemented but I could settle if they think they absolutely must

It took forever to bring 1 person into my game during the beta, and even then we couldn't communicate either in-game or via Xbox One chat. Neither game chat or private worked in-game. It worked while we were both dashboarded, but not in the game. I read somewhere where Bungie decided to not allow verbal comms in Destiny. This is a monster mistake if its true for the final version. Also, there is no REAL reason against matchmaking, and barely any for. Everyone's opinions on matchmaking are based off of a previous experience in a different game. Im for it because i really enjoyed the expert runs through L4D with randoms. I made most of my friends list in steam from that and PayDay2. However im perfectly aware that this isnt always the case. The biggest reason FOR, is that theres no simple way to advertise for your recruitment, or for more members (known as of yet). HOWEVER. The idea that matchmaking makes the game 'easier' is complete bullshit. And anyone who panders that idea needs a slap.

PVP players should have to form actual clans and friends get them together and then enter a match. Cuts the quitting, AFKs, team killing in half. Cmon let's be honest even friends will stick a grenade in a buddy's tank exhaust. But that's funny instead of the horribly evil and silent contempt randoms feel for each other that has ruined PVP matchmaking for years now. Too bad they're not brave enough to apply the best solution presented in years that could fix PVP in what's been discussed with Raids.
