Because the people who argue with Christians are either A: Idiots and have a superiority complex B: Just bored and want to argue with someone. C: Don't like the religion and just want to hate. There's plenty of other reasons, but those 3 are just coming off the top of my head.

The Bible clearly states that Christians will be persecuted. It still happens today in many different forms, from as simple as being mocked to as serious as murder. Be that as it may, you should not let persecution discourage you from being a Christian. Accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior is one of the most important things you will do on this Earth. You shouldn't avoid it just because of the persecution. Although life may be hard for you at times because you are a Christian, be strong. Christian persecution may not be avoidable, but as Christians, we can endure it. You can try to get through those trials by reading Bible verses about persecution. Read the scripture on persecution here and try to find peace in your life. Psalms 9:13 Have mercy on me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, you that lift me up from the gates of death: Psalms 119:86 All your commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help you me. Jeremiah 20:11 But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. John 15:18 If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. John 15:20 Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 1 Corinthians 4:12 And labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: 2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 1 Thessalonians 3:4 For truly, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and you know. 2 Timothy 3:12 Yes, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. Hebrews 10:33 Partly, whilst you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst you became companions of them that were so used. 1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you: 1 Peter 4:16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

Edited by God: 8/30/2014 2:01:43 AMEveryone gets picked on though. Christians tend to make it easier since they often have a persecution complex and make threads like this one. Plus American non-Christians tend to be pissy about how their society and sometimes laws are dominated by Christian values, and the fact that Christian fundamentalism has a very significant following yet anytime they complain about it moderate Christians bombard them with No True Scottsman arguments rather than acknowledging the problem. And lastly Christian beliefs come off as silly to the non-religious, so they're also going to be picked on for the same reasons Bigfoot enthusiasts, 911 conspirators or other paranormal beliefs get picked on.

Meh I will argue with any religious person who wishes to push their beliefs onto me. Christian,Muslim, sheikh,Buddhist,Taoist, so on etc etc just seems to be the Christian community is the more vocal on here at least.

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. (Psalm 34:10 NIV)

Did you guys know that on average Christians oppress people every day? Studies show they're under a mass delusion but live in denial.

Jeez you didn't hear Jews complain as much when they lived in n*zi Germany. I had to censor -godwinslaw!- cause it turns into this link that doesn't apply to what I'm saying

Simple they know they will be safe no matter what ... No fear of reprisals

I think discussion of religion versus atheism is pointless. Let the children play. They'll grow up eventually.
-
Also because for some reason, some Christians feel the need to follow old laws of the the old testament. Which they aren't supposed to do.

Wat r christians?

I'm a Christian and yes I get picked on. But most Christians are very judgmental and mean to people of other religions or people who just simply don't believe. They brought that judgement to themselves. I mean yes I'm Christian once again, but I respect other people's beliefs :3

I pick on the bigots and crazies who want to shove it down people's throats. There's the creationists trying to shove creationism into classrooms, the harmful bigoted homophobes and racists who use their Christianity(there is plenty of terrible things in the Bible to give racist ideas and that's not even discussing how their upbringing influences them), and the crazy idiots influencing our politics for the worse. I'm not going to become an oppressive asshole like the people that came up with these crazy religions and don't care as long as they try to force it on others despite how harmful I know religion is, I know first hand how it can really f*ck up a child's head and find it deplorable, but Christians shouldn't be surprised when other people push back against the crazies and shouldn't be insulted when these people are attacked if they're not on their side. But ultimately my biggest problem with Christianity, and religion in general, is the insistence of having faith instead encouraging critical thinking and demanding evidence. We will ultimately go nowhere through this approach and will hinder us in the long run. It's also something we see today.

Here's how it is here Atheists --> Christians Christians --> Atheists Christians & Atheists --> Muslims There are almost no Jews, Muslims, or other religions that vocalize against another here.

My biggest question is how can one believe the entire universe came into existence via "The Big Bang" by pure random chance as opposed to "The Big Bang" by intelligent design? Look at the structure of a muscle and how it produces ATP? The odds of that happening by pure chance alone are 1 in infinite. Now, look at the structure of the eyes, ears, nose, lung, heart, etc. Thats not even counting the solar system and physics coming into existence via explosion. How many explosions have resulted in mathematical order and physics? 1 if the theory is correct via random chance. What are the odds of that happening? Tornados creating Boeing 747's by destroying a trailer park is more likely.

I my self am a atheist But I believe that they have a right to believe in what they want
