Does anyone else think the tower is boring? After a while of being there and playing around with my friends i think it get pretty boring. To make the tower more interesting they should have more activities in the tower.
Some ideas to the make the tower more fun.
* More special events( Fireworks,ETC)
* More social activities
1. Add firing range - Practice with a gun you just purchased
2. Board Games ( chess,checkers,ETC)
3. Dynamic weather this may not be needed but i would like to visit the tower when its raining or thunder storming.
What do you guys think is the tower boring or is it alright? If you have any other ideas of what would make the tower more interesting post it down below.

Wait to de game it's bigger than think.

For point 2, they could add matchmaking if you haven't got enough willing people to play the board games ;)

Edited by Jollyman Syco: 9/1/2014 5:57:04 AMThe tower is just a pit stop, it's not supposed to be a place of fun its supposed to be a place where you buy and sell equipment or meet with your squad. If you got bored there then you stayed there too long. What it does need is more background life, NPCs moving about, npc conversations between other NPCs, kind of like a village in Skyrim. Background life makes the game way more immersive.

Agreed. I would like to spend time in the tower like a village or something you do when you don't want to hold your gun to kill
-
I think maybe a card battling system for the grimoire cards would be cool and fun to collect

I like everything but the board games. I think thats a very dumb idea. This is a video game. Not a board game. A plus would be like adding some neat background music while at the tower!

Definitely a yes to #3. We have puddles on the floor in the tower when not an inch of rain can be found. The sun's always shinning. It's a small issue, but its annoying as all hell.

Too much Halo. Not enough Skyrim.

Go kick the purple ball and get a lap dance from an awoken female hunter. You'll be a'ight.
-
Really?! I would have never guessed!
-
The tower " is the social hub" Now, where did that purple ball go. Yes, it needs more.

Do you know the secrets. That are hidden around the tower fir example the fan that is on top of the mail their is a secret botten that can send a person into the air

There's a reason they're wiping your character,it would be old and obsolete,they're changing a lot.
-
Play board game with your real friends... If you have any.

3defeats some of the lore look at any pic of the traveler it doesn't let any clouds past

There is no game called chest. How do you not know that? Chess is what I think you were going for. Destiny does not need chess, your computer will kick your ass cause you obviously never played.

Maybe bungie don't want people spending too long in the tower, to detract too much from the game's core principle of shooting aliens in the eyeballs :D
-
Really? You just wanna sit on your bum and circle jerk your friends at the tower? How about go explore.. You could also race the sparrows as some of my buddies did with course marshals and a very elaborate race track at old Russia. Not saying you dont explore but it seems like you would rather waste your time at the tower from what this post tell me

Edited by PapaCap: 8/29/2014 4:41:37 PMThe tower is much too small, it needs to be large and grand! I realize they put everything close to each other for ease of getting around, but it doesn't work. The hanger (Which doesn't feel like a hanger at all, it feels like a cage. Can't even walk up to ships or on landing pads) is dull and dreary, the area around the Speaker is nice with the vegetation but claustrophobic in a way, and the initial area where you zone into the Tower is flat and basic with hardly anything of interest going on. I don't know how they can liven up the Tower or make it interesting, but especially when you zone in and there's not a soul around - which happened quite often - you can see just how small, boring, and empty the Tower really is.

Having more interactivity with NPCs would be great, such as normal folk commenting on rumours and your progress in the story. In the beta I didn't feel confident that the rest of the game would explain what was going on in the story, so having people follow that up with their perspective (rather than our Ghosts') would be great. Another thing I'd love to see is context sensitive objects like having a drink at a bar, sitting on a sofa, playing mini-games or just admiring oneself in a mirror. Seeing as you can't just sit there and wait for matchmaking to queue you up and zip you into the gameplay, it's not as though much is needed. In WoW this seems to be the case; most of the endgame can be done through menus, and there's almost little reason to leave the capital city because of all your resources being there. Having something to do like playing Hearthstone or other fun activities would make waiting for queues to pop better. Here that's not really needed - the Tower is a pitstop for loot and reputation, before going back into the frey. If Destiny had more options for grouping in the tower and communicating with people who aren't in your fireteam I'd say the Tower could benefit from board games and roleplay gimmicks. But because Bungie want you to do that through the website rather than in the game, there's almost no point in putting additional resources into the one place you shouldn't be in for longer than 5-10 minutes. Unless you're AFK.

All I want to see in the tower is, more npc interactions.. seriously lacking. Everything is, see them, buy these..
-
It's fine. It's not really meant to be a place where you will spend large amounts of time in one go. Go there to speak with vendors and collect your bounties... Then get back into the fight! If you're in the tower long enough to get bored, then you're not fighting the darkness hard enough :-)
