They all must hate us. They work so hard to give us a good game, and then some people come on here and bash on it. It's rather depressing.
Edit: I see that some people seem to think I'm saying there shouldn't be any criticism posted on these forums. This is not what I'm saying. All I'm saying is that if I were an employee of Bungie, I would hate to see the hateful bashing that sometimes occur on these forums.

I'm sure they do...

Who cares

But also so far answers from Bungie have mostly been: "it's our vision that's how people are gonna play it" which does not coincide with the diverse environment with something for everyone we keep hearing about. More openness and transparency might lead to a less antagonistic community. I think they need to rethink the way the handle customer relations, act less like artists(to me vision is another way for stubbornness and lack of choice) and more like a provider of products.

unfortunately that's how the internet has become, we all can hide behind a computer screen typing whatever we want without getting "beat up" by anyone, but in some serious cases there are consequences to your actions

Edited by Muted: 8/26/2014 3:10:38 PMIf they did they woulda added bigger boobs in destiny as much as I raged/trolled about it lel. #DoItForTheBoob

I feel bad lol, the main focus that everyone is trolling over is the stupid matchmaking for raids. I have had enough of bashing my head against the wall explaining how it is a bad idea... -.-

Edited by Sir Amik Vaze: 8/23/2014 8:23:57 PMBungie game devs - "We spent 500,000,000 dollars making this game. It's going to be epic". Forum troll - "It's going to be so shit. CoD is waaaaaaay better blah blah blah. Deej - "OK let's do this. LEEEEROOOOOYYYY JENNNNNKINNNNNS!!" Forum troll - "Can I hear footsteps?"
-
No they don't DeeJ has us all muted.

But that happens with every game, you don't see the guys that work on the call of duty games crying. I think they know how to take criticism.
-
Having made a game myself, my understanding of how much work a game takes was way off! It took me a month to make the tiny basic game. Many features I planned on having had to be cut due to time and resources. This really put into perspective the hard work it takes to develop a game such as Destiny. So thank you to the whole staff at Bungie!

They read these forums? •feels naked•

Sometimes I think people may not understand what it is they're asking for. Maybe they don't comprehend the sacrifice it takes to actually work on a project like this. These people have spent a huge portion of the last decade working on this title. Families have grown, dwindled, people have come and gone all the while the developers continue to grind through the work it takes to produce a game of this magnitude. Whether we like what comes of it or not we should still appreciate this effort. It's difficult not to cringe at the effort of some to try and bash something that has been the life of these men and women for so long. I feel they deserve a bit more respect for trying to brighten our lives with Destiny. They're artists painting on a canvas in hopes that we'll appreciate what they do for us and most of us just look the other way or choose to bash their work. This goes without saying, but this is true for all developers. We should all recognize what these people do to try and bring entertainment our way.

90% of the hate is from trolls. Everyone I talked to who played it loved the game.
-
Criticism is fine, when it's constructive. A lot of it fails to meet the constructive category.
-
It's a good thing they read these forums so they know what people think of the game so that they can Improve it. Bungie you rock keep up the awesome work.
-
They'll definitely be laughing when they're swimming in gold coins and dollars scrooge McDuck style.

Edited by DEZARATH: 8/24/2014 4:36:29 PMOnly if the fail to meet a deadline. Then I'm sure they marched to the lowest part of the building and forced to argue for the losing side of the issue of the subject of the day in #Destiny or #Feedback. After they break down and beg forgiveness they are released where they run back to their open cubicle and sob while clinging to the fake plant in the corner under the desk with the extra hard drives and wires.
-
One of the problems is if you say something should be changed, explain why you feel that way and understand not everyone likes the same things, 99% of comments that will follow will still have no real counter argument or point. I like the overall feel of destiny, but everything can be improved. If people just put constructive comments then the community would not be ignored completely as currently, every post with actual feedback and reasoning gets drowned in aggressively diminutive comments that help no one. If the community wanted the game to be the best it can be it would stick to productive feedback...gotta love the internet.

Well they are probably thinking to themselves "Kids will be kids."

The haters are the motivators.

Honestly ... grow up. The forum is a form of free advertising - what gave you the idea that it was meant to be a staff-warm-fuzzy environment.

Edited by SolidGoldCrown: 8/24/2014 9:07:12 AMHonestly, though. A lot of the response was like letting people try a new ice-cream brand. "There wasn't enough there." "The bowl was the wrong color." "You will never be able to increase the amount we just tried." "It was only one flavor." "The ice-cream I usually eat has a different texture." "Where are the sprinkles?" Give me a break.

The forums are generally used specifically for criticism (Except The Flood). It helps Bungie do their job, and let's them know what people like, what they hate, etc. Granted, there are people who come on the forums to hate, just for the sole reason of upsetting other people. But then you get criticism that can amount to something.
