• The one thing you should never do is judge a company on its actions when you are only left with "speculation". You have no idea why they terminated Marty. If you were Bungie, and found out that the guy who writes your music intended to SELL 1.72 million in his shares to ELECTRONIC ARTS putting the entire company in peril what would you do? You're judging Bungie on things you are not there for, you never witnessed, and don't understand. Have you asked yourself "Why hasn't O'Donnell stated the reason for his termination?" Dude wasn't terminated for no reason at all. And Bungie wouldn't just wake up one day and fire someone because they were bored. You aren't thinking ahead or behind without judging.

    • dillonbruyer, I can tell, like many reddit users, you're not aware of what this situation actually entails. An arbitrator or arbitration case, basically boils down to three things: #1. Is it binding or non-binding? #2. Is it official through an organization or person? #3. ALL cases of arbitration are not, in any state of the United Sates anymore, allowed to be the final verdict. Only a designated court of law is allowed to make final notes of this. All this was, basically, is a cheaper version of a trial in which, this time, a retired judge basically said that stock needs to be returned to Marty. Bungie is NOT obligated to return anything yet as they can pull this into a courtroom. That IS their right. Everyone reading up on this needs to chill out and back off. It was a business decision, damages included making financial recommendations that we don't know if Marty filled immediately thereafter, ect.. Remember that ungie is a LLC. Limited Liability Company. They are not made of money and if they were to pay off the vacation settlement of 90k, they need to generate the revenue first to make it happen. Secondly, that word: settlement. Marty did not take them to court. He settled. Which is the cowards way of going about things in terms of justice. If he wanted to prove any points, he would have gone to trial. It appalls me to no end that I have no less then twenty years of experience in the public defense area and yet everyone reading this is so devoid of how and why people do this. This was NOTHING but a money grab. One which actually put a lot of people in harms way for whatever agenda a stockholder wants to promote. You may be thinking I'm coming downhill on Marty right now. I'm not. I'm getting warmed up and setting the table for a discussion right now. Ask questions of me. Don't shy away from your thoughts on this matter. Marty did what he did for logical reasons, but please avoid trying to make this sound like it is Bungie's fault. It is both parties fault and both parties will share the blame. Anyone who says otherwise thankfully is not involved with the public process because I certainly wouldn't want biased, unjustified opinions running amok in a place which prides itself on truth and justice.
puts a sour taste in my mouth
This puts an immense amount of sadness in my heart, and my mouth, I can actually taste my tears, taste really bad :( I will never understand this decision, even if reasons were given to me, this does not make sense at all. There are many good video games out there, few can boast having a trademark like Marty. Dumbfounded.
