Anyone else extremely curious as to how release will actually work? PST vs CST vs EST
I've been exploring the interwebs for answers without any luck. Everything out there is hearsay. I really wish Deej or someone from Bungie would give an official response on when servers will go live.
I pre-ordered the digital edition and yes, I now know of the 12 PST note near the countdown timer. I didn't do research and assumed it would be 12 AM local.
With so much speculation as to when servers will go live an official response would be extremely helpful. There's a big difference between 12 AM EST and 3 AM EST. Having an official response would help folks to plan how they will play on release.
Will servers go live at 12 AM local time? Will start times be the same for disc & digital orders? Is it written in stone that all versions go live 12 AM PST?
Please for the love of all things light & holy, give us an official response.

I haven't cared too much since I'll be going to the midnight release to get my ps4 bundle so I'll get home around 1 am CST and then I'll need to replace my hard drive for a better one which will take until 1:15 not counting the set up of the ps4 so it'll be close to 2 am when I get done with all of that. So if it does open up at 12 pst (2 cst) I'll have things to keep my time filled.

2 RepliesThere's no official word, and there probably won't be. However, if you have a digital copy, the release key won't be available until 3 am EDT. That has to go global at the same time everywhere. So if you buy digital and live on the east coast, you need to find something to do until 3 am. If you buy a physical copy, though... It makes sense to open the servers early, so as to let people in in waves instead of all at once. However, other online-only games have waited until 3 am EDT (midnight PDT) to open the service. Chances are the servers will be opened sometime between midnight EDT and midnight PDT, and people will trickle in at first by word of mouth. Or constant mashing of the X button.
