Shooting in the Destiny Beta.
Hi, I have found out that people were maybe cheating in the Destiny Beta.
Did you get smashed in PVP, well maybe they were using an Xim4.
Its a mouse and keyboard for console's.

18 RepliesI wouldn't say it's cheating. Using Astro's a50s also give players an "unfair advantage", right? And using Konrol Freaks? It's out there for everyone. You use it if you want to. The fact that they don't allow it in tournaments doesn't mean it's cheating.

M&kb is so much easier to use than controllers. I think kb&m should be on PC only, that way everyone (most everyone) will be using it and it will be fair.

1 Replynot implementing hard caps for strafe-direction changes and turning speed in a console version of a game where 90-99% of players are using a game-pad from a comfortable sitting location out because THEY WANT TO, is flawed game desing - abusing that with KB/M is bad, sad and a plaque. but is it "cheating"? my definition of cheating in video games is when you "cheat the game" - and it becomes especially worth to mention if you cheat the game in a way that gets you advantages over - and especially against - your surrounding players. but if the Dev's didn't undertake the steps to prevent you from using KB/M in an advantageous way (by implementing said hard caps for strafe-direction changes and turning speed), you unfortunately do not cheat the game unless the Dev's officially declare it to be otherwise and take action against players abusing the games flaws in such drastic a manner.

11 RepliesJust because someone is much more Comfy with the mouse and keyboard set up verse the Game controller set up doesn't mean someone is cheating. Honestly it's like saying someone who eats a boscotti isn't eating a cookie. Yes it may LOOK different and have a different texture than other cookies, but it's still a cookie at the very end of the day and gives me the same feeling of laziness and being a fat slob as all other cookies.

Using a XIM4 will not save a noob with no knowledge of the map layout, character builds or weapon loadouts, that much is evident. Skill still comes heavily into play here. But between two experienced veterans, that controller with ultra responsiveness and pinpoint accuracy will definitely give an unfair advantage to it's user, no questions asked. That, to me, is cheating.

6 RepliesI got wrekt in the crucible but I figured it was because I was lvl 6 with whatever gear I happened to find, and I was playing against a group of lvl 8's who appeared to have superior gear. I think people were maxing out their char and farming the best gear and that's why they appeared to be cheating

Well, I guess I didn't realise how desperate some people were to wanting to win... I just hope that there's someone out there that uses this and that stupid manual red dot on the tv screen at all times, device. Would make for a great laugh.

I'd expect to see quite a bit of keyboard/mouse use. You have a lot of PC gamers coming to consoles specifically for this game. People tend to be creatures of habit and stick with what they know.

The advantage given by point and click shooting is ridiculous. Go play it on a computer if you want mouse and kb. Oh wait, everybody else will be using m/kb and your bitch ass won't have an advantage OMG it would be a fair game! F#cktards like you couldn't possibly allow play in an even environment could you?

Pathetic....there is no doubt a point and click shooter via mouse is easier than any controller for any console.... I remember playing Tribes on the PC (sci fi FPS, with jetpacks) and the ease of shooting people, mid air, with a disk shooter (slow moving projectile) was crazy. Of course its cheating....

Thank you for sharing this. I have a friend who is a life long PC gamer and wanted to play Destiny with me on PS4 but could not use get over using a controller. I shared this with him. Hoping he will buy one ASAP. And no its not cheating IMO. No more than using a quality headset is cheating. Keyboard and mouse still requires motor skills to operate competitively.
