I was interested in the game the moment I heard of the details sometime in 2013. It was nothing I'd ever heard before and it seemed to host all of the genres that I enjoyed to play. Take a pot and add some water, now add Skyrim, Borderlands, Mass Effect and a few other favourite games of yours, wave your nonexistant wand and; poof.. Destiny is born from the soggy and ruined husks of those other ruined games. Ever since that information has been released I've been waiting for the big loot to drop, more and more info had to come... It was just a matter of time. The gameinformer 2014 article had loads of information! We came one step closer to our legend. Then E3 2014 came. Destiny/Bungie were going to be there, Oh the hype. What were they going to tell us, this close to the final product and the Beta. WHAT? Starting now we can sign up for the Alpha to get a first look at the game? Oh my god, yes. The Alpha was disgustingly good for an Alpha, my dreams came true... I made new friends without even talking, I discovered stuff after maybe not even once, but 10 times of scanning the whole area. PvP was fun, The Strike was great and so was the whole exploration system. I knew Destiny was something special. The Alpha died down and the Beta hype slowly rose, "Bungie said its gonna be like the whole game!" Woah! Could you imagine? Many people were let down that we could only play one part of Destiny, but I wasn't too sad. Now we could see how random events in the Tower happen, how we could go to the Moon, and how amazing the Hive are at building creepy fortresses. I played with my friends until my eyes went dry. Now as we get closer to the launch, I just smile, knowing how much fun I'm going to have with my friends and how I'm going to fail school. Bring on the Darkness, I'm ready.

My brother and I both entered the world of FPS games together when Halo: combat evolved came out. There hasn't been a Bungie Halo game that we haven't played through entirely on co-op (the first time we played each one, it was always co-op). We play through every game with co-op together, and often play mmos just because of that co-op multiplayer element. We have our own criteria for a game: It needs co-op multiplayer, pretty good character customization, and needs to be fun. Games like the Halo series fit for the co-op element, Reach being our favorite for the custom Spartan in story. We played dark souls together, fight against each other with custom characters in soul calibur (actually, saying that there was co-op and character customization was pretty much a good sell on any game there was for us). When I played, I would always prefer to play anything sword/ninja/cowboy/assassin related, I would reach for it in the same way he went for anything that went along the lines of looking for things like magic and battlemages. When it came to Star wars games, I wielded the lightsaber, and he wielded the force. Of the Borderlands games, Borderlands 2 was our favorite. I got to play Zer0 and fight predominantly with a sword and invisibility, and he went for the Siren, obviously the mage. Our favorite genres? Sci-Fi and High Fantasy. We've played games with each other most of our entire lives, starting with Mario and Luigi in Super Mario World. It's how our favorite way to play a game. So in the period between November 2012-February 2013 when we first caught wind of Destiny, we knew that this was the game of all games for us. A mythic Sci-Fi, a hybrid of our favorite genres. Character customization, check. A game BUILT around co-op (I cannot stress that fact enough). We love our open world games, our adventure games, our RPGs, our MMOs, our FPSs, but nothing has hit the nail on the head...until now. The deal was sealed with two of the three classes (The fact that it is a three class system pulling from the core RPG excited us greatly. Rogue, warrior, wizard.) Of those classes, one hooded and one with a flowing coat, seemed like they were made for us. Hunter, and Warlock, from the very beginning. We didn't need to know anything about gameplay, we could just tell by looking. It felt like the game was for us. Excitement peaked once the Law of the Jungle trailer came out. I've memorized it I've watched it so many times. We've been on an unending road of anticipation ever since. I threw together super quick Warlock and Hunter costumes for Pax '13 (They are currently being upgraded for release), hoping we'd see some Bungie people (we did, only two though. We didn't realize the were having a meet and greet until after it happened) only to be surprised by how many people didn't know this game existed. "What is your costume?" "We're a Hunter and Warlock from Destiny." "What's Destiny? Never heard of it." We started referring it to as Bungie's new game, and that seemed to help. Most people who knew about the game said that we were getting super excited very early, and we were, but we didn't care. We couldn't wait. As soon as the game was available for pre-order, we preordered two copies. Beta test incoming? Perfect. We would endure the wait for spring 2014, and later if we had to (we had to). Much more has happened since, and I would love to share more events that occurred during the duration of our story, (like when I had the honor of crossing paths with Marty O'Donnell ) but I cannot share it all. We've kept up with this game day to day, and excitement only grows with each new revelation. This has been such a long and arduous journey, but I know..we know, that it is worth it. So to answer your question...why am I excited for this game? I have never anticipated a game's release in the same way I have waited for this one. I am excited Destiny because it is the game my brother and I have been waiting for. I am excited for this game because I will be able to hear Marty O'Donnell's and Michael Salvatori's music again. I am excited because no game has every been able to capture and represent the reasons my brother and I play games together before, and no game has ever had systems that have fit us so well. I have always wanted to step foot on Mars and the Moon. I have always wanted to fight enemies with my sword, revolver, cape flying in the wind, a hooded figure standing against an army. I have always wanted to become a legend, someone of importance, through my games. And I have always wanted to do that, with my brother beside me. Destiny manages to capture that emotion in a way no game has ever been able to do before. They've come close, but this is the game I've been waiting for. If you happen to hear the whispers among the agents of the Darkness, or the stories told to children of the Last City that speak of the guardian brothers Albireo, know that we were there, two stars of the Traveler, fighting as one, just as we always have. I cannot wait for that day to come.

    • I'm most excited to show the Cabal of Mars my blade dance. To see the hives eyes glow with fear as my golden gun illuminates the depths of their nests. Excited to test my fellow guardians, and see who will be victorious in the mighty crucible. I await the time to becoming a legend.

    • The ability to be able to explore a brand new world with friends, due to the fact that game like Fallout and Skyrim have no co-op I never get the enjoyment of exploring new places and facing new enemies with friends, while helping each other with missions and scoring sweet loot.

Hmmm Any interesting comment... I don't have one but Lashonda, Bonquiqui, and Jonquesha are called the "Rachet Musketeers" that's an interesting group! I'm excited for Destiny™ because it is different than anything I've played and it's possibly one of the best experiences I had in a while since MW2 which I spent most on time on, so I'm hoping I can spend everyday on Destiny™ #NoLifeGaming

    • Bungie seems decent and Destiny might be kinda good. They promised to make something new and support for a long time. Finally supporting "my side" of campaign and co-op gaming. So unless I die, I plan to be along for the ride as much as I possibly can.

    • I can't stand MMOs, RPGs, and FPSs. Destiny has, somehow, delivered an experience that is appealing to me and super fun. Seriously, I have avoided those types of games since Doom was new in '93. I'm not sure what exactly Bungie has done so differently from everything else but they did something/many things right imo.

    • I am extremely excited for Destiny because it is going to be a new fun expirience for me and im going to get to put alot of time into this. It is an ingenuitive new approach to an FPS game and i immensely enjoy the RPG aspects of it. Another reason im stoked for Destiny is that i have more then one release to look forward to. Im getting the expansion packs, so not only am i going to get to play Destiny, im going to have more greatness to look forward to after i hop into the game world. This is the first time i have ever preordered a game and i dont know why that makes it so much cooler to look forward to. Its also the first time i have ever gotten a chance to have my hands on a Limited edition and that makes me feel really special inside. Because of Destiny i got to come here and meet all these amazing people, make friends, and i even got a clan started! Destiny has rocked my gaming world and i am super stoked about its release. I want everyone to have a great time out there and play some Destiny. I am a Desticle and proud of it. Lets get out there on the 9th and have some fun people. Eyes up guardian.

      • I am excited for destiny because it is going to be a new exciting, interesting and fun experience to most of us. I played the beta and wish I could right now. The titan though... something about leaping forward and smashing a group of enemies to dust was so satisfying and I can't wait ti do it again. And I can;t wait to fight along side guardians once again against the fallen, the hive and the other enemies we have not yet been put up against. And last of all I'm excited to fight back the darkness once again with the community. That's why I'm excited for Destiny. I hope to see you guys on the battle field and may the light guide you.

      • It's something new and exciting that has deviated from the norm set over the past few decades. I've been waiting here for a while (Like many other community members survived The Darkness post-Reach.), and it's so close I can almost taste it. I mean, I just want to see that new Dragon Encyclopedia so badly. Also Destiny is pretty cool I guess maybe.

        • Entering a completely new world. Crafted by bungie. I'm going to explore with my friends, my brothers, and complete strangers I meet! Alliances will be forged, renewed, or completely smashed. Just like how halo use to be.

This explains why I love gaming and can't wait for Destiny. It's a reply I wrote to someone who talked about how his responsibilities prevented him from playing at midnight after the launch. He got flamed because people thought he was insulting them for being "no-lifes" but I don't think he meant it this way. It made me think about why I am so excited about Destiny, and why as an adult I am so excited for this game... so much for it that, at midnight, I'll be up all night happily playing Destiny. "In my experience, being thirteen was a time when I was subject to a bedtime under the tyrannical rule of my parent overlords. Now that I am on my own, I have a philosophy: When we were kids, adults made us do things that kept us from being happy, and we didn't understand that it was for our own good. Now, as adults, sometimes we forget that doing something purely to be happy is for our own good. Like most people, I made a couple promises to myself when I was a kid in that situation. "When I grow up, I'll play video games whenever I want, watch TV, eat candy whenever I want, and I'll roll the windows down and blast the AC in the car if I want!" Obviously we can't all be like that all the time, but every now and then it's a good call to remember those promises we made to ourselves and keep them. When we made those promises to ourselves, life was a lot simpler, all we cared about was being happy, and we knew what being happy really was. So I'm sorry to ramble, (It's late, I'm tired, and rambling on these forums helps me get over writer's block) and I'm sorry so many people are flaming you for your answer. I can respect that you have responsibilities and value other things over video games. I do really hope, however, that you keep a couple of those childish promises to yourself and have time amid those responsibilities to just be happy. If it's not video games, then whatever it is, that's awesome. I try to keep those promises to myself occasionally, when I can. And for me... this time... it means taking two vacation days and playing video games from midnight launch until I can't play anymore." Thanks for having this contest, I think it's pretty cool. Also:
ATTENTION CHILDREN OF THE WORLD: Eating candy for breakfast is every bit as awesome as you imagine it to be!
Edit: If for some strange reason, this post is chosen to win the shirt, (which I highly doubt) please give the shirt to Pegboard, thanks.
