So about the Vault of Glass difficulity
When D3 first came out, the months before was all the talk of how no one could guess how many months it would take for people to clear inferno. A month of constant crying from 90% of the community and boom it was dumbed down to the point to where anyone could clear it. And because of that, the game grew dull and lost a lot of its player base in a hurry. (Well that and many other underwhelming reasons.) This Vault of Glass reminds me of the same concept. All talk of how hard it is, and will be, and how long it will take to be cleared.
I really hope it isn't dumbed down just like Diablo was due to all the whiners wanting the loot right away and not having to actually work for it. To the 0-1 of you Bungie people that may actually read this, please for the love of all that is good in this world, don't cave in to cry babies who do not want to work for shit. I want to enjoy a challenge not be thrown into another loot pinata of a game and be burned out in 2 months -_-

If you look at the mined data from the beta there are 3 difficulties for vault of glass.

I heard it took a clan 16 hrs with no luck to beat the vault of glass.

I don't think the raids will be so difficult that there will be a HUGE outcry to nerf them, especially since there is no matchmaking so you can't go in there expecting a matchmade group to just plow through it

They said they are the hardest thing they've ever made and they also said it's ok that players will have a tough time. It makes them want to get better and learn. Although I can imagine forums being flooded for "nurf the vailt plz too hard" but I hope they really keep it hard so the ones who pass it will be recognized.

I want to feel like a legend after completing the vault, pushed to the limits achieving something incredibly harder than any boss or raid I've ever fought. I'm more interested in the awesome journey I will have than the loot I will gain in the end. It's the challenge I look forward to. :)

Diablo 3 died because everything was wrong in the game:, items, loot, boss, skill tree, always online, no stats, story.... They nerf inferno = dumbed down ? The game was dumbed down from the start, Diablo 3 was made for CONSOLE not PC and they are still trying to FIX the game today. INFERNO mode was simply retarded, you had to spent countless hours in a stupid Auction House to get the best gear and for that you need to farm, killing Diablo or any boss in hell simply gave you 3 white and 4 blues .... there was no farm in Diablo 3 and every "exploit" were getting nerf. Inferno mode was so freaking retarded that mobs simply one shot you for 100k damage when u have 5k~hp. There is HARD like games as Demon's Souls / Dark Souls / Dark Souls 2 , where you learn from your mistake and adapt .... to impossible like Diablo 3 inferno-[b]kite [/b]mode You are comparing Diablo 3 with an other game ... when you have no clue why Diablo 3 and the community react. Most misleading and bullshit post I have ever seen in #Destiny, Congrats! TL;DR Inferno mode was impossible to do, Solo or full group with the best gear in the game., get out with your bullshit! Dumb ass!

Agreed. I don't think they will decrease the difficulty. If people think it is too hard, oh well, they just miss out on the loot. There many things in this game that players will not get if they are not on the playing level. By that i mean, if you only play regular PVE, you won't get the PVP items, and vice versa, if you don't play with people, you won't raid and you'll miss items. If you're not good enough, you'll miss out on things as well. I think Destiny will encourage players to get better and form teams as we have seen already. In the Beta I could already tell there is a skill gap that is wider than some other FPS due to Destiny's movement mechanics and Supers. People would do things like run into a room with no back up to capture points knowing there are 2 guys in there. This game requires playing smarter not harder and if people want the full experience they will have to join together with others. I mainly solo, but I have no problem with joining groups and running raids to aid in help, as we all want the same thing, to beat the raid, strike etc or get the loot and the better players you have the higher chance of success. I will have fun beating all that Destiny throws at me with any of you guys, and gals.

There is many folk that dont give in but they just stay in the shadows of cry babies since there is so many of them. I do not think it will be like D3 because this is mainly online based and it actually differs a lot from D3. There will be constant updates etc. I plan on coming back to the vault a lot as you can tackle it at different levels. Whats different about destiny is that you have a lot of other side stuff to do unlike D3 when it was just hack n slash constantly as well as gear grind and the same repetitive story which quickly got boring. Destiny offers nightfall mission, strikes, story and crucible and of course the raid, plus all that is availavle from start, the game will grow even more so it wont be repetitive like diablo was.

I totally agree with you. If they make it to easy then you will have abunch of morons running around with strong gear and they don't even deserve it. I hate when things are just basiclly handed to me. I want to fight for it a REAL challange if they do anything I want them to boost how hard it is so it can make me want to lvl even more then just wreck it lol

there are already 2 difficulty settings normal and hard so if there is cries for nerfs on raids wouldn't it make more sense to add an easy mode with less good loot? I don't understand peoples obsession with a fixed difficulty for all players so if less skilled players cannot do complete the content you have to nerf the content so that it is boring for the skilled players? or vice versa if its too easy for the skilled players you buff the content so that its no fun for the less skilled players? would halo have been a success with just 1 difficulty without easy or legendary difficulty? or even the option to play on LASO? as long as loot is given out relative to the difficulty to stop guardians farming weaker raids for gear I don't see why there would be a problem
