I just realized that the only reason I got the 360 before I got the PS3 was because it came out first. Before last gen I played my PS2 more than my Xbox, and all of my friends had a PS2, but only a few had an Xbox.
-
I did the exact opposite. I played my PS3 for a couple years after my PS2, then all my friends started getting XBOX 360, so I made the switch and have stuck with Microsoft ever since.
-
I wanted an Xbox 360 because you needed it to play Halo 3...
-
I got it for one single game franchise. Not Xbox Live, not new features. Just one franchise. Do you know what it was?
-
I got a 360 for Halo 3. I decided to just stick with the 360. I did have a PS2 and Xbox.
-
I got my 360 for Halo 3 and only Halo 3. That is why I got it before a PS3.
-
Got it because of halo and gears of war.
-
Nah, I got mine solely because of Halo 3. Likewise, I got my PS4 today solely in anticipation for Bloodborne.
-
I got it because it was cheaper. The same reason I got a PS4 this time.

Edited by U124926: 8/17/2014 12:35:44 PMI'd hazard a guess that 99% of 360 sales were for Halo, much like Xbone. But I got mine for the random hardware crashes.
-
I got it obviously because of Halo 3
-
Got it solely because of Halo.
-
I had an original Xbox and got addicted to Halo. I preordered the 360, went to the midnight launch and was so excited to play it, plugged it in, and it yellow ringed... I then spent 2 weeks going between EB Games stores and home experiencing one defect after another, until I gave up and got a refund. I bought one PS3 at release and had until 3 months ago, when I traded it towards a PS4.
-
I'm pretty sure everyone here got a 360 for halo 3
-
I got my 360 on 2008...
-
Negative. I don't even know if I knew about the PS3 when I got my 360. I came from a purely Nintendo background, so I was completely foreign to Xbox (I did have a PS2, but only for 2 games specifically). Once in a while I got to play Halo: CE, then 2 at friends houses, before finally playing 3 in the Summer of 2007, all the while slowly becoming addicted to the game. That prompted me to want the 360 I got in early 2008 without a second thought. Basically, I got it exclusively for Halo.
-
I got the 360 simply for Halo 3.
-
I probably played on the Xbox more than the PS2 towards the end of that generation, so I would have bought a 360 first either way. It was about 2009 before I eventually got a PS3.
-
I played my PS2 more than my Xbox (my Xbox was a Halo/Morrowind machine). I got the 360 because that's where Bungie's games were going to be. I still played other games but missed out on a lot because I didn't get a PS3 til the tail end of the console generation.
-
Bioshock and halo 3. That is all.
-
Sure i played on the 360. But i never bought one. I waited and got my PS3. I still have it and it's still great. The two 360s which were bought into the house lived different lives. One red ringed regularly, the other, an arcade, which i upgraded from spares for the owner never faulted once.

I was like 10 when I got my 360. Didn't care about the difference, just wanted games! Lol Now I'm 17 and I'm PS to the core but I love all systems.
-
I waited for 120GB Elite model which came out in 2007.
-
Once I played Halo 2 on xbc I was sold on the system and any other halo that came out afterwards. So once the 360 dropped I picked one up knowing a new halo would release on the system. The ps2 had a lot of my favorite games like ratchet and clank, final fantasy, jak an daxter, sly, and a bunch of others but I'd played those games for years and wanted something new. I got a ps3 years down the road to see what it had to offer. I loved infamous, little big planet, and the resistance series plus the new ratchet an clank games that came out but I wanted a multiplayer player experience. That where the fun was at. And majority of my friends had a ps3 but....they never played the games I did. So I kept it for the few old titles I could by like ff7 and 8 and that was it. Xbox has a better online experience and better exclusives IMO. It has the games I want to play.
-
I was a big MS fanboy back then, so I was always set on getting the 360.
-
I got my first 360 in 2007, so no.
-
I got the PS3 in 2006 and got my Halo 3 Edition Xbox 2 months later
