What's more important to you in Destiny PVE or PVP?

PVE (PS4/PS3)

587

PVP (PS4/PS3)

92

PVE (X1/360)

589

PVP (X1/360)

69

I think the games focus should be 90% PVE and 10% PVP when you want something a little different. Honestly I'm sick of PVP focus killing many games that could have been so much better if time wasn't wasted on PVP content. Also I'm hoping the DestinyDB is wrong is forcing me to PVP in order to get my exotic scout rifle. I left out the option of both on purpose. You're either looking forward to one or the other more. I want to get a general idea of what the community wants. I just hope this time I'm not the minority. Select your CORRECT platform you're planning to play on please

  • You honestly can't compare the two, PvE is the only way to get to 32, crucible is a side thing for marks to buy weapons and engrams. Even though I love PvP

  • All games are leaning toward pvp because it is a cheap way of making replayability. Other players being the enemy is easier than developing levels and enemies with ai and new challenges

  • Well the PvP servers are awful and the pve is lacking content. Need more to do not more guns

  • Very interesting poll thanks OP. I don't think they need to focus anything on PvP anymore, the mechanics in PvP work ok and they've spent ages with iron banner and other improvements so it's time to work on PvE. It certainly shouldn't be removed as I know a few people that like PvP but it works, there's plenty to do on PvE but its been completely ignored for months, discounting DLC and raids which were planned anyway. I'd love to see more PvE content and no focus whatsover on PvP elements for bounties if people don't enjoy it - it should be either or, not forced on us.

Good poll. I especially like that you separated responses based on console, as the exclusive strikes and gear make the PS3/4 PvE a slightly different animal.

    • That's eye opening, thanks for the poll! Maybe bungie should take note and back off on forcing the crucible on bounties and constantly spitting out the iron banner. Virtually 9 out of 10 is very significant.

PVP could be taken out all together for them to focus and make an even better PVE experience if you ask me. woulda been good enough if it was just duels.

      • I'm much more for the PvE. But tbh it's not what I expected. Don't really like it that much. But still looking forward to playing Destiny with my friends.

              • I'm a bit surprised that the PvP votes are so low, then again I'm not sure how many people are actually voting on this.

                • Its interesting to see that alot of people are going to be playing pve rather than pvp. When reach came out because there was no incentive to play campaign (no gains that could improve pvp experience) people went straight to pvp to try and get good at the gane before everyone else. So its weird to see the reversal.

I like both components pretty equally. PvE creates the love, PvP makes it last. Considering how much time was spent just making the PvP lore friendly goes to show how much they care for it. That and Bungie is pretty well known for stellar PvP experiences. I don't think any part of the game can just be brushed off and if you choose not to like an aspect that is your loss, not everyone else's, certainly not mine. Surprisingly the more I ponder this game and my experience with it the more I liken it to the Dark Souls PvP and PvE situation. They're vastly different games sure but they both have that mixing in the two experiences that makes the game so much more, and honestly each part would suffer without the other. It's this weird almost esoteric phenomenon I can't explain easily and can only sum it up as the two parts together make the experience so much more than the two components alone would imply.

                • Huh...kind of disappointed so few people in these poles voted PvP (PS4 user) but yeah who knows how many people actually voted lol. Anyway I love PvE, I loved playing Borderlands, grinding for rare loot, gear, etc...and I put countless hours into that and of course many other similar games but eventually that experience ended, I got all the legendary stuff and essentially had nothing to do. That's why I kind of care about PvP more personally, it doesn't end, and unlike computers, people have the potential to provide a far greater challenge than AI opponents. I also I'm a fan of competitive gaming in general as by nature I'm quite competitive. So while I have no doubt PvE will be great, PvP is what will keep me around after the platinum.

                • All out PVE. when i tried the crucible in the beta i sucked big time, so I'd rather have a good time wandering around meeting new people, rather than raging at something I'm not good at.

                • Honestly feel that anyone who is pvp focused isn't really planning to *play* the game. Games that are dedicated to PVP cater to a much more casual crowd that just jump in and out of games and rarely spend long periods of time gaming and/or cooperating with friends to achieve a specific task. Not to say that there aren't gamers that spend inordinate amounts of time playing only pvp (moba's anyone?) just that the average consumer for console fps that primarily focuses on pvp is far less likely to spend much time gaming in general.

                  • I want this b*tch focused on everything. Havent been excited for a game in a long... long time.. i got addicted, and only on the beta. Wish it had content level of a mmorpg. Hopefully it has enough to keep me high over 100 hours.

                    • I've almost always preferred PvE/story to PvP no matter which game it is. The only game where I actually preferred PvP is star wars battlefront, which has PvE included in the same mode.
