Is anyone else disappointed that the PVP limit on players is 12? After playing BF4, anything less than 12v12 seems very last gen and slow paced. Even killzone had 24 player matches. At the very least have a big team battle game type like in Halo. While 3v3 and 6v6 can be fun and challenging, sometimes its just fun to jump into chaos and see who comes out on top. Anyone else agree?
Some of you guys seem to think I'm comparing BF4 and Destiny directly. I'm merely using it as an example. I do not want 64 player matches. I do not think every map should allow 24 players. All I'm asking for is a couple maps that can support 24ish players. Such as, Halos big team battles did. Or even CODs Big team deathmatch.

Game doesn't have the size maps to work with anything more than 6v6 at the moment. Maybe in the future but I still don't see it. Would be nice though I suppose.
-
I can see it now. 12 people capturing a point and all get demolished by a nova bomb/fist of havoc. Then all 12 running to the forums screaming for the supers to be nurfed.
-
We haven't seen all the game modes there will be more than control, I'm guessing you know this, and this isn't made by EA or Guerrilla Games this is being made by activision and if you haven't noticed it seems like activision is heading up the multiplayer seeing as CoD is mostly know for their multiplayer

Edited by Afrolicious: 8/10/2014 2:26:24 PMI won't lie 12v12 sounds fun as hell lol. I think there will be some maps big enough to support it like the moon map, so who knows, we may have a "big team battle" type game mode.
-
it's more then enough. some players might not be able to handle that many players and I feel it adds a good balance to the teams and reduces queue time.
-
It's not all about the numbers. You can have awesome games with fewer people too.
-
I'd prefer real pvp, not this arena garbage.

Its simple the game isn't focussed on pvp. Its an added feature as its expected. Destiny's focus is on pve content, raids supposedly the hardest challenge bungie have ever made. Thats what they want you doing. If you want pvp check out planetside2 coming soon to ps4 and is playable on pc. Its a free2play game with a freemium business model. If you think 24v24 is choas try 2000v2000v2000.

I'm more concerned that only 16 players are in each world
-
The reason no one discussed this is because no one really cares, it's a working mechanic that doesn't need tweeking or changing and works as intended. Although OP, you are free to feel entitled
-
I like the smaller count. It allows for a more intimate experience

Edited by Play Pretend: 8/10/2014 2:39:37 PMI like the 6v6 more arena feel. Personally I hate large player count pvp.
-
It doesn't need changing. Map size fits perfectly with the number of players so why change it?
-
Small sides like the ones in destiny allow for better communication and teamwork.
that is of course if everyone has a mic
-
I think it's because of the smaller maps. It would be crazy with 24 people running around on shores of time haha.

Edited by DEZARATH: 8/10/2014 3:54:16 PMThis game seems it isn't for big team PVP players. Planetside 2 will be coming soon for PS4. Destiny is mostly PVE. Why did they even bother to put in PVP MM other than just for ego and nostalgia? If anything it should have been just an invite mode between clans and friends since its so tiny and ineffectual on a grand scale when compared to COD, BF, and Halo MCC.... Let alone Battlefront chugging down the pipe.

Guys I'm not saying change map sizes or throw 24 people on maps such as Venus. I'm saying, based off of current information the max players for a single match is 12. I would like to see maps that support 24 players such as The Moon or a variation of the moon. Even if its only like 4 maps. Not every map needs to support every game type or player count.
-
It's fine on games like destiny, where 6v6 works nicley on the maps. But in BF4, the maps are so large any 6v6 game would feel empty. I've played games of BF4 where I cannot find anyone. It's annoying.

This is what I said

Edited by Ewan McNeckbeard: 8/10/2014 4:59:41 PMThe maps we have already seen are quite obviously not built for such a thing.

They might have a gamemode similar to groundwar where there are more people

Sometimes less is more.

I was initially disappointed at player limit but then I played it. Games are frantic, exciting and fun as hell which is much more than I can say for battlefield. The map size so far is perfect. I'd love to see a big team battle playlist for sure but I'm not making complaints until I see the full package. You also have to consider the quality of bungie PvP. They make the highest quality, most solid pvp I've ever played. Battlefield is the lowest quality I've ever played. Maybe internet/console tech just isn't there yet for large player matches. That aside battlefield just feels sloppy and horrible even compared to cod. Destiny is on another level, even from halo.
