Edited by Demodog2112: 8/10/2014 12:55:32 PMUhm this is info that was gotten from data mining the beta. Beta builds are usually months old and are lacking stuff that is in the current builds that in-house testers, etc are using. Bungie themselves stated somewhere that the beta build we all played was several months old and not actually the current build they, themselves, were working with. More importantly (and I am surprised nobody else has picked up on this) is that we had about 70% of Old Russia to explore and only 5 story missions. That leaves another 30% of the map left to be opened up and shown. Also, mission 5: The Last Array. We go looking for the Warmind, Ghost confirms that it is Rasputin and he is still up and running. The story missions ended on that note. Obviously, it would be detrimental and silly to leave a plot thread of that significance just hanging with no further fleshing out. Then the first mission on the Moon had absolutely nothing to do with Rasputin. If you can connect the dots, in this case 30% of Old Russia left unexplored and Rasputin introduced and set up to be an important figure/NPC for the Old Russia/Tower/Collapse of the Golden Age and then not followed up on, one realizes that there are at least 2-4 more story missions in Old Russia revolving around Rasputin. That arc was not satisfactorily resolved in any way from the 5 missions we saw in the Beta. Also Rasputin is introduced in the mission: Warmind. Then shown to be active in mission 5: The Last Array. Use some common sense in this regard folks. Why would Bungie set up Rasputin, indicate he is important, a relic from the Golden Age, show that he is alive and kicking and fighting still only to just abandon that plot thread after 2 missions with no resolution very, very early in Destiny's story missions? Answer: Bungie wouldn't do that. They are better story crafters than that. Long story short, don't trust data mined crap from a beta build that was at least 2 months out of date when we played it and was maybe 1/4 (and 1/4 is being fairly generous here) of the actual size of the game in terms of download size. Common sense, logic... use them.

What was this even about? The data mining? now bungie is so scared of people finding out the truth of their repeated lies they start DELETING peoples posts????? Censoring what they don't want people to know??? Stopping people from challenging them???? Sounds just like n a z i Germany without the killing Go -blam!- yourself bungie you people are a -blam!-ing joke & some of us won't tolerate that kindof shit.
-
These aren't the droids we're looking for, move along.
-
Lmao you dick you got me I must admit :( lol

Edited by Nestroit: 8/15/2014 7:28:43 AMkeep complaining guys, bungie will read the complaints everywhere and maybe they put some content BACK into the game and we will get what we've expected.

Edited by SmirkingSkull: 8/11/2014 8:17:26 PMYou list The Reef as having two Missions in it, but no explorable sections. Are two missions just cut scenes or what?
-
was it about the cake? where you lying about the cake again? Glados, i thought we had this discussion! and if you put mustard in my sheets again im going to... something i can't remember the quote! XD

Edited by JustOnePepsi: 8/10/2014 8:16:18 AMOld news. Like... posted all over the place during the last couple days of the beta news. This is likely all we're getting. Especially considering Deej's comments during the 2old2play stream, where he was asked "So there is just one explorable location on each planet?", to which he replied "Yeah, we're calling them Destinations." and then proceeded to talk about how you will go to Earth, to Mars, to Venus, to the Moon. He started talking about how you'll start in Old Russia, then you'll go to the Moon, and he got distracted, and never really finished his thought. A little later, he said "We've revealed all of the locations you'll visit when the game ships." Now, some people consider his words vague. Like the fact that he said "yeah" right before denying several other questions. Perhaps he was just validating the question, before correcting the "destinations" aspect of what they're calling each planet, and simply didn't answer the question at all. I wouldn't bet on it. Not to mention, Bungie's silence on the subject. They could easily clarify all of this and release a statement that says whether or not there is only one explore region like Old Russia on all of the planets. All we've had is a post that may have been by Urk, which was posted on a completely different site than Bungie, where he assured us that Destiny is the largest game they've ever made, and they look forward to adding content after release that includes single-player content, and not just multiplayer maps. Still, he neither confirmed, nor denied the whole "one explore zone per planet" rumor, and they've been completely silent on the subject since. This could be for one of two reasons. They either don't want to confirm the rumor because they think it would hurt sales, or they don't want to deny the rumor because this is all a fabricated controversy and the data that was available for mining was purposefully placed there to get the rumor mills turning, and they're simply trying to preserve the surprise. I believe the former is far more likely. I would love to be surprised on the 9th, and find multiple locations on Earth, at least. It seems a little silly for them to use a marketing line like "Explore the wild frontiers of our solar system. Discover all that we have lost." and only have Old Russia representing the entirety of Earth. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this datamined info were correct, and this is all we see at launch. Hope for the best... expect the worst.

but you can find this information anywhere?

What was the post about though? Oh well

Never forget 8/13
-
Sword of Croat is part of the dark below dlc not the actual story
-
Do you have a source for all this, last time I read through a list like this, it was from the Beta coding, at which point, that was what was available in the download and locked. Also the Beta coding is old code, and not quite full release coding, so there will be more on launch.
-
Blah blah blah, wait till the game comes out!

Edited by Ian Mackay: 8/11/2014 12:33:45 AMI'm not too worried about running out of stuff to do in this game... 3 classes to level and gear should give me a lot to do, plus multiplayer with friends after all Pve content is cleared by the time I accomplish all of that, DLC should be released.
-
Game is far to short looking, with what appears to be a very small multiplayer, also the "23" strikes are literally just 6 at different levels.
-
Nice compilation OP. All the more reason to be excited about Destiny since we only have seen two areas so far...
-
Edited by Perrinoid_: 8/12/2014 5:10:58 AMIsn't this the data that was collected by those reddit users? If so, I am sure much of it is outdated or completely scrapped considering the data was from a beta we didn't participate in awhile ago..
-
2 maps on earth. LOL!!! Bungie is fcking insane if they expect me to buy this pile of shit.
-
Edited by Dieharderxx: 8/12/2014 12:09:13 AMThanks for the list. It's a shame everything is so repetitive. I only count 10 Strikes mission, everything else listed is a repeat at a higher level. I won't count Nightfall as something different until I see it plays differently and it not just some adjustment of equipment levels with enemy AI and players. I want to see different enemies in different locations and that they behave differently than the standard Destiny AI.
-
I wanna say bungie themselves stated the 7 destinations number. I wanna say besides the 4 you mentioned The Rift and Mercury are confirmed, I think the 7th is still unknown.
-
I will gladly purchase any content released for how ever many years they release it.
-
The obvious truth is that "Destiny" is supposed to be around for 10+ years, they are releasing future versions of the game and they are releasing expansions. This is all we're going to get "when the game ships" as Bungie has said. We will surely get much more over the next several years, but we'll have to pay for it. So yes, there will be more explorable maps, there will be more raids, there might even be more planets. But no, we won't have any of that on 9/9
-
I thought you said Five Exploration Areas. I only see four listed here.
-
Does this include or exclude the DLC expansions available at launch?
