Proximity chat?

I'd like to be able to meet people by walking up to them and saying hey. Not fiddling with teams and friends lists and chat boxes, etc. I'd like to share laughter or thanks with strangers in the moment, not after the fact. It would be pretty easy to just turn this setting off if you're not interested, or mute specific people if they're being obnoxious. What do you think? Share your idea's here and in a bunch of other threads so it spreads like wildfire and bungie does something about it before launch!

  • Proximity chat would be awesome! It would be awesome to be able to jump into a fight and suddenly be coordinating with a random player who you decided to help. However, I understand there are some players who would rather not listen to other players, and that there are some players who abuse proximity by screaming in the mics. Honestly though, the best fix for this though is to: A) Have an option in the Settings to toggle the Proximity chat to 1) Everyone 2) Friends Only 3) Off Or B) Have a mic sensor that will automatically mute your mice if it detects high levels coming from your mic. I would prefer the first one myself, but I agree, it can be a hassle sometimes. Lets hope Bungie already has something planned for that.
