For the love of god, please no micro-transactions.

I'm sorry if this was already brought up but please Bungie, don't put micro-transactions in Destiny. No matter what Activision or anyone else says, if there is anything that ruins good games, micro-transactions are one of the top reasons. They bring no good to games, all they do is allow people to take the easy way out. You obviously don't want you're future guardians to be cowards do you?

  • Pure pay for convenience/cosmetics with some things not being purchasable can work - Warframe pulls it off nicely.

    • Can you explain to me what that is exactly. Every time I hear some one talk about it they never actually say what it is.

      • There's probly gonna be some sort of armor shaders/ships/ghosts/sparrows that can be bought. Highly doubt it's anything pay to win, but the more customization the better I say.

        • I completely agree I hate working hard to get a really cool gun or piece of armor and then some other guy just spending fifty dollars on in game credit and getting all the good stuff with no skill on their part at all

        • It's already confirmed, but it'll be customization items at most, not weapons or armor.

Well if Bungie truly plans for this game to last ten years then Micro-transactions will get a good 30% of the Gullible Noobs who buy everything on here everything they could ever want in 10 minutes... But i would not be surprised to be honest, Guess we have to wait & see. (Pay to win and Pay for convenience are the two main ones im talking about. Pay for cosmetics is Ok for those who want to look awesome right on launch day and so on since chances are you can easily get that stuff in game overtime and the experience of the game is not really ruined by it.)

          • agreed but i see no harm with maybe pay for cosmetic items, ship and sparrow paint jobs, paint or paint jobs for your armour... maybe something that brings the stats of one item but puts them on a different one so you can have the look of the armour you want but with the stats of the super armour you just found...

          • I actually really hope there are no microtransactions at all. Even cosmetic stuff. If there are they should at least be able to gain them ingame by actually playing. I mean we are paying enough for the game and the DLCs right? #EarnYourLoot

          • as long as it's purely cosmetic I won't mind, They'd make more money with really good DLC (more areas, missions, items, etc.)

          • Agreed. No Micro-Transactions. That said, I can already see the Xbox users getting hit hard with em. Why? The timed exclusive content that PlayStation gets. More than likely Xbox users, after the timed part of the exclusivity deal ends, will get the items as paid DLC/Micro-transactions. Knowing how Activision does DLC this is an almost sure bet that it will happen. I fully expect to see that additional Day 1 Strike and PvP map to be sold piecemeal to Xbox users. Probably both individually and as a bundle. Then that trend to continue with the rest of the timed content Sony gets. I also have $20 that says the season pass doesn't cover this content either. And all of this will be on top of the ghost, ship, bike, skins or armor dyes etc that go out too.

If it's just for new shaders, ship skins, etc. I wouldn't mind it IMO. But I say no to anything what could break the balance of a/the game.

            • There will be some transactions but if we look how Bungie operated on other games i.e Halo3/Halo Reach, you can see that they had players pay for the expansions. Mostly the expansions were for pvp content only, but it was a way for Bungie to survive and keep on creating.

YOU PEOPLE ARE FREAKING RETARDED PUSH THE PICNIC* BUTTON BECAUSE WE ARE MISINFORM micro-transactions are only CUSTOMIZATION , they have ZERO IMPACT IN THE GAME. They will do it since 60% of Activision $$$ are from DLC, micro-transaction and such. I will drop money on something that look freaking awesome. And if there is a trade system, I hope they will sell the best weapon/armor for real money since I rather put my money on Bungie/Activision other to so stupid Gold Farmer Tell me, what so wrong with micro-transactions that isn't P2W? You are playing a game publish by Activision , they announce micro-transactions two years ago ... and now u panic ? Or we can say no to micro-transactions and all look the same :) *twitch.tv reference u scrub

                • Microtrans wouldn't hurt game play but considering xbox have to spend $60 on game then add $10 monthly for live, they already making money. Then add cost of DLC's? Sony users are already getting better deal. Would prefer no micro's

                • I agree! any type of micro transaction is an abomination. In a game everything must be conquerable by your own ability, no matters if aestetic or power weapons! And only bad games companies and bad games sell themself to the cash god

                • To clarify my original post, any micro transactions that are "pay to win" such as being able to buy; Vanguard/Crucible Marks, Glimmer, Armor, Engrams, Weapons, and any other gear that will affect the competition with real money, is what I am against. It is fine by me if there is any option to buy Emblems, Banners, and any customizations.

                  • I agree with this thought but if they give us a lot of free DLCs then I am okay with micro transactions. Mass Effect 3 has micro transactions and tons of free DLC which worked together. If all DLC has to be payed for (we know at least 2 will at a reasonably high price) then they should not add micro transactions as well.

                  • I believe everything cosmetic or otherwise should be earned or awarded. Not bought.
