The way I see it. CoD is O.P. when it comes to using a knife & halo has the hit or assassinate from behind.
During the beta I had to stab a titan in the back of the head 3 times & a warlock 2 times to kill them. I'm a huge fan of being rewarded when I get the drop on some one. It feels like I'm only rewarded for shooting instead of being sneaky.
*edit for clarification:
performing a melee strike, while flanking your target, should be treated like a skill shot (all classes).
time wise: 1hit vs. 2-3 hits
(outside of beta cap & hunters sub class)
destiny is a game trying to not define a class for specific rolls. people can play all classes as: snipers, shot gunners, grenaders, melee juggernauts & sneaky assassins

Well, if you get behind someone you can usually kill them with melee before they turn around
-
I'm good. It's a fun thing to do, but honestly, at this point, I'm ok with them not being in the game.
-
if you want to backstab your enemies pick a hunter and unlock the bladedancer subclass
-
I don't support

I completely disagree. One-hit-kill melee is too often exploited by the lesser skilled (majority) of players to get an edge over people who use more proficient methods. Incorporating stronger melee in a game that already has a lot of CQC and high-speed character movement would just encourage jousting repeatedly as a means of combat. This game is supposed to take place in a distant future universe inhabited by "Guardians" who can harness incredible power and you want them to go around punching eachother to death. Cool story bro. The ONLY reason anyone would advocate such a ridiculous alteration to the game is that they're TERRIBLE in multiplayer as it is. I have to assume you can't hang with the big boys, so you're trying to tip the scrubby scale in your favor. Shame on you sir. Shame on you! All I have to say to you (and anyone who agrees with you) is... Get good. Destiny is not Halo.

Yais. It would be badass beating up a fallen and then as a titan decapitating it with your fist, only to watch its soul fly from its body Or as a hunter, getting hits while it's not looking then sneak attacking him with your blade stabbing it multiple times then diva pirating it once more And finally the most badass could be the warlock, after getting its health low, you could force push it to the clouds, and depending on the element, igniting it only to watch its corpse fall to the earth
-
At first I thought yes, but after considering the direction the game is going I don't think so. It would have the Halo assassinations thus making it more similar to halo. This game is very skill based besides grabbing heavy ammo. Giving someone the ability to one shot in destiny kind of breaks the mechanics of the game
-
Bro no one wants to one hit kill anyone! That shits pointless! if that's the case might as well go play COD!! Don't reply on melee/knifing/assassination if you don't expect to shoot them first to a lower someone's health then melee/knife/assassinate them! Get some tactical skills and stop complaining!! And stop I know what your gana say, "if I can sneak up on someone I should be able to assassinate them with one hit" stop it bro, not even the most competitive FPS offers a one hit knife (counterstrike) it takes minimum 2 hits with knife. Man whinny as kids!! Smh -___- just off your self!

I know titanfall became dull quickly for many reasons but i don't think the multiplayer mechanics was one. Anyway... They had awesome assinations. Nothing like hearing your neck snap and you camera being turned around so you see your killers face before dying. Lol
-
You do realize only one halo had assinations correct? Back to the shoot smack or back smack days.
-
I support 100% because it opens up another way to play, feels more realistic being able to do something which is instinctive. I'm no ninja but If I get the opportunity I like to take full advantage. High ranked AI in the campaign should block/counter or just be impenetrable to your assassination attempt thus you pay for your mistake. Probably just holding out so they can add it into a future title which totally sucks MC's deeply bruised balls.

Know what I love about the destiny app? I can see how much whiners like u suck. Nice kdr in the crucible. .6 and . 57 . Go back to Cod.

"I dun wont 2 ad a moar stelth liek elimant 2 da gaem cuz I'm 2 oblveeous to be awer of my suroundingz". Psyche. Love the idea. Bump Bump Bump.

Edited by Scavenger23: 8/12/2014 7:31:08 PMGet more armour with strength. Then your super charge close quarters combat ability recharges quicker, if that's your play style. Or do my personal favourite. Shotgun Punch. Works every time.

I dislike my titan not being able to split a warlocks skull open with my gauntleted fist, and while I never got bored of seeing some unaware as hell sniper get assassinated, I can understand how in a game like Destiny these animations could prove to be unbalancing for the gameplay. I like the idea of rewarding stealthy approaches to combat, but I don't believe that Destiny has a robust enough stealth system, And thus something like this would be problematic. I already feel like my Titans melee is less effective compared to the warlocks or hunters, so in my opinion adding a one shot kill would only further aggravate this issue.

If you're saying backsmacks should be OHKs, then I agree.
-
Assassinations would be great.
-
No. Melee is already crazy strong. It doesn't have to be CoD-level strong.
