WHATS YOUR ROLE
So i consider myself to be a pretty knowledgable gamer and one of my favorite parts of video games is finding your play style and learning your role on a team!
Other FPS games I've played such as Halo and COD have roles for different players such as your Objective guys, the slayers, the support players, the long range passive guy and the flag carriers.
And MMOs have roles somewhat determined by class such as the trio (DPS, Tank, support)
Its a cog in the teamwork machine and can just make you feel important having a role.
So what i want to know is, WHATS YOUR ROLE on your team?
Id love to discuss what you think will be valuable roles in Destiny and your personal role in your squad!
And don't limit your answers to PvP only!
I want to know how you'll be fighting off swarms of enemies in all modes of Destiny!

1 ReplyAs this game seems to be anything but traditional; my role will be the Guardian with the large back pack. That way I can carry anyone that can't keep up.

I just love to help people out and help the team win. I played FFXIV: ARR as well, i was originally a Gladiator(Tank) and was doing well for the low dungeon but realized it's getting harder for me on higher level so i decided to go for DPS role. Occasionally play as Conjurer and run around healing other adventurers doing Fate or some side quest which you need to obtain from the vendor, can't remember the name lol.

13 RepliesI'm leaning towards Sunsinger as I've always been more inclined to support roles with the exception of FF:ARR (played a DRG and loved it). Really excited to really see what that class can do in combat situations after reading all it's skills. Also, if you guys are on the One gt is AnimalMother13 if you want to add a support warlock to your fire team. Just say you can't from the forums. Can't wait till the 9th

1 ReplyIn Battlefield and Halo: Reach I always played artillery when I could; climb in a tank and drop shells on distant enemies. In Halo 3, my favorite place was behind the turret of a Warthog. Destiny doesn't look to cater towards either of those. As far as infantry work goes, I always maintain a defensive stance in Objective modes; if you want to plant the bomb or steal the flag, you'll have to step over my corpse to do it. In PvE I just kill everything and go out of my way to revive teammates when needed.

4 RepliesI'm my teams appointed TeaBagger. Being rank 1 in destiny TeaBaggs, it's only the natural choice. It's a hard role, Sure. But i have adjusted my play around this fact and i've come to master the art. With a total of 5,217 logged teabaggs across all gaurdians faces (not including alien races) people come to realize that i'm not only the worlds best, but the worlds most efficient. My secret is the triple dip. A trademark of mine. After eliminating the enemy. I will slip my body over theirs and perform the art of dipping my potato chip over their faces with a quick series of button presses. 3 times. Not too much. But just the right amount to cause the enemy grief. This method, role, and playstyle ensures my teams victory EVERY game.

1 ReplyFrom the answers I see some of you only see one question being asked. I will attempt to answer the 3 questions I see being asked. 1st question: In Destiny PvE I will primarily be the long range guy hanging back to support the team by not dying. 2nd question: As my PvP role I will be the team player grabbing captures, flags, and focusing on the objective. In PvP I tend to wait more due to older and slower reflexes. So if I have another objective guy running for the flags or the captures, then I am the support guy for him/her. That means I guard that person or act as their escort. Sometimes I am that one guy that has only 2 deaths and 4 kills. I can sometimes see that other players are out classing me so I resist dying to play out the mission to see if we can pull a win in the end. 3rd question: In general I tend to be a support/DPS guy watching the battlefield. MMO speaking of course.

4 RepliesI will be the closest to a"tank " that I can be, titan defender. I've always liked the slow lumbering brute type character. I don't just defend the wall, I AM the wall.

Either help my teammates by taking out enemies from a safe place far away, (then I never have to stop to go in cover, and can take out potential threats to my teammates non-stop) Or be in the thick of the battle with them, healing them and/or protecting them. (like let's say, with the Titan Defender's shield if I choose to go that route)
